Naruto Shippuden Episode 279 "White Zetsu's Trap" – Discussion

I liked it. (1) Shino got to show off his quirky awesomeness, self-consciousness, and his brilliance. (2) It pointed out the value of Yamato to Akatsuki beyond him being a battery; intel. It also established that he's still alive, not just in a deathly coma. (3) It pointed out how very vulnerable Naruto is: if the enemy just nabbed Hinata; he'd freak. (4) It was goofy and funny. (5) The manga flashes past so much in a glimpse that, when you are reading it, you think, "I wish I knew what that's all about, and what so-and-so is doing during all this" and these sorts of fillers serve to fill that function. Fillers that digress completely from the flow of the manga, though, infuriate me... which brings me to:

So, how about that Sasuke in next week's ep???

Awesome episode. Why do people complain? The War in the manga sucked (Most of the Edos got lame death, and secondary characters didn't got focus at all), im happy we have War fillers and not some Flashbacks crap again.

True but they need to put more action no one wants to watch the secondary characters just talk, also why was hinata taken out so easily this is meant to be war not some mission in part 1. We expected more.

This was a great episode and shows just how underrated Kiba, Shino, and Hinata all are. They weren't even using their best techniques but were still completely fodderizing the White Zetsus in the beginning. The same white Zetsus that the regular kunai throwing chuunins and jounins were having a hard time with one on one.

Kiba is only a little underrated he is not that strong and has barely any moves. Shino is underrated I agree he is a beast, hinata did not show anything in this episode which is why I am disappointed I thought neji trained her yet she was knocked out so easily and didn't really show much, like her twin lion fist or anything the anime made her look weak. The Naruto games represents hinata better then this episode did which is a shame. White zetsu they are about low chunin level if you was going to compare them with anything.Kiba hinata and shino are about high chunin level so I guess they did good but hinata was showcased poorly in this episode.

Well it had pretty good action for me to be honest. We saw Shino using Taijutsu like a pro and then his new Bug Tornado Ninjutsu.

I agree also it creates more build up for the epic stuff that's coming and makes it truly feel like war

Let's not get carried away now it was not like a pro, neji and lee are pro's, it was decent taijutsu skills. But I agree that the less important characters need more screen time for their fan bases out there.

Because she sucks, its part of her character. She's on the same level as Choji, good for a team but bad solo. Hinata is meant to be trophy housewife for Naruto or Kiba or Gaara, or some hyuga guy.

She does not suck dang damit! lol and also choji now that he has butterfly mode and can use it freely is top 3 in konoha 11 (not including naruto) So Neji Lee Choji.

Hinata has trained for this war Kishi will showcase how much she has grown when the alliance get's to Naruto

And Hinata did not suck this episode. She's the one who alerted Kiba and Shino in the beginning to all the Zetsus that were around them and were about to launch a sneak attack, and also she killed a lot of them herself. A lot of chuunins and jounins have been dying to the zetsus 1on1 lol. They just needed one of them to be knocked out because they wanted to show how good the zetsus were at infiltrating.

Hinata is actually pretty badass these days with the lion fists and unwavering determination to win. They should have knocked Kiba out. He's the weak link of that team.

Funny. I've read posts that the anime doesn't add enough extra content and now that it does, people are litteraly taking a shit on it. I was also confused about the Sasuke thing for next episode but who knows, maybe Deidara was just going crazy because he remembered being beaten by both Sasuke and Itachi or it was a genjutsu. I doubt that Sasuke will already have left that cave. Even the animators shouldn't be that stupid (hopefully).

Why is everyone complaining? Who cares if it wasn't the best episode fillers were coming either way. Would you rather have an episode about the K11 as kids doing a 3 legged race? I thought the fight scenes were decent and I don't think I've seen Shino do that bug tornado that was pretty cool. And these characters never get screen time anyway so I like when they have a lot of lines of dialogue.

When I saw the name "the artists aesthetics" I thought it was going to be about Sai trying to paint a picture or something. But it's about Deidara, Sasuke, Mifune + samurais, and the commando unit. And the animation actually looked really good. The episode scheduled after that is "allied mom forces" so that's probably going to be real bs filler.

Also why are people surprised that Hinata was defeated so easily, she has never done anything ever.

5/5 episode was okay, but this is the best fillers are going to get.
