Chapter 54: Ro vs. Mika
“Naruto!” Kurama says.
“I know, he's the one with Saiken's chakra.” Naruto says, looking down with intense focus.
“I feel his chakra but I can't feel him anywhere.”
“When I sealed off the kid's chakra I also inserted a portion of my own chakra inside him, I didn't see Saiken inside him either. The shinobi's only a Pseudo Jinchuuriki.” Naruto says.
“No, you don't understand what I'm saying Naruto, I can't feel Saiken's actual being anywhere, just his chakra.”
Naruto widens his eyes. In Naruto's subconscious, he lays on top of Kurama's head. Naruto sits up and places both hands on Kurama's head “Wait, you're saying—”
“There's not a trace of the Rokubi anywhere. Though the connection is weaker the further apart we are, we can all sense the general presence of each other. I can sense the other seven just fine but I can't feel Saiken in the slightest besides his chakra.”
“Does that mean he's dead? No, it can't be, you guys are beings of chakra. The Sage divided the Chakra of the Juubi and used his Creation of All Things to give the chakra manifestations bodies, which became you and the other Bijuu...You're beings can't be destroyed without the chakra being destroyed...which is an impossibility since chakra can't be destroyed.” Naruto grabs his hair. “Ahh, this is confusing?!”
“No, our chakra can't be destroyed but our bodies can...but it can only be done in one way.” Kurama's tone is filled with ominous unease. “Our chakra has to be stripped away from out bodies and divided into several pieces. Without chakra there can be no living entity.” Kurama's tone is speaks with death.
“What the hell...is Kirigakure up to?”
Naruto hears Kiba announce the beginning of match and he immediately snaps back into reality to watch the fight. The moment Kiba begins the battle Mika takes out eight shuriken, four in each hand. She launches them towards Ro. Ro takes out his katana and he quickly deflects every one of the shuriken and begins towards Mika. Ro takes one step and he find himself unable to move his right leg. He looks down and sees several vines, sprouting from the shuriken on the ground around him. The shuriken begin to disappear as the vines shoot up around Ro.
“Genjutsu...” Ro says in an expressionless tone. Ro bites the inside of his mouth and blood begins to spill from his mouth behind his mask. He snaps back into reality just as a small line of blood drips from the bottom of his mask to the ground. As he comes back, Ro immediately notices Mika appears in front of him with a kunai in hand and she swings it around at his head. Ro ducks and goes to sweep Mika's legs from under her. Mika leaps backwards when Ro goes for the sweep and she throws her kunai towards him on the ground. Ro draws his katana with is left hand and smacks away Mika's kunai as he begins to run towards her. He gets close to Mika and swings his blade horizontally. Mika quickly steps closer and blocks Ro's arm from outside. She places her left hand on his bicep and bends his arm back with his blade in hand. Mika steers Ro's arm so that his blade would stab him in the back. Ro quickly drops his blade before he's impaled and as he begins to fall he extends his left leg into Mika's stomach. Mika loosens her grip due to the kick and Ro releases himself completely, grabbing Mika's arm and throwing her over his shoulder.
Mika rebounds quickly only to find herself surrounded by mist. She looks at Ro just before he begins to disappear within the mist. Mika sucks her teeth and takes out a kunai and she stays on guard.
Akamaru barks and Kiba pats his head “This kid set up the technique pretty fast.” Kiba says. “*sniff* At least I can track them though.”
The mist is thick over the arena and not even the hawked proctors can see through the dense mist.
“Hokage-sama...” One of the Anbu guards turns towards Naruto in slight concern.
“Don't worry.” Naruto's eyes resemble that of a toads and the orange markings around his eyes show Naruto in Sage Mode. His arm still leaning on the armrest of his seat and his face rested against his face.
Mika calms her body taking a deep breath. She remains stationary within the mist shifting her eyes around the area through the thick mist. Mika begins to hear the sound of a blade behind her and she quickly moves to the left and turns. A kunai brazes her on her right cheek and she grits her teeth. Mika suddenly reacts, pivoting around and she blocks Ro's sword with her kunai. The two face each other, holding one another off. “You saw through my Silent Killing.” Ro says. Mika doesn't say anything she just looks into the expressionless mask of Ro.
Ro pushes off from Mika and backs away back into the mist. “Get back here!” Mika throws her kunai in the direction Ro vanished however she doesn't hear the kunai get knocked away she only hears it once it hits the stone wall of the arena where she faces. Mika hears the sound of another kunai, this time descending down upon her and she quickly moves back. The kunai lands in front of her as she's still in the air. Her eyes widen as she sees sparks at the end of the kunai and sees an explosive tag at the end of it. The kunai explodes and Mika's is caught, partially in the shock waves and she goes flying back, hitting the ground hard on her descent. Mika picks herself up only to be met by Ro. Ro begins to let loose a barrage of punches and kicks. Mika does blocks and evades the barrage using quick enough reflexes. Ro lets out a punch from the right and Mika ducks, spinning around putting her left hand in her pouch as she does. Mika rises once her back touches Ro's back and she pushes off of him into the air, placing a paper explosive on his back just before she heads up. Mika makes the tiger seal and causes the bomb to explode. The bomb explodes and Ro's body disperses into water and the explosion causes the water to splash.
Ro appears behind Mika in the air and he kicks her down, using chakra in his leg to make it much stronger. Mika falls fast but quickly manages to turn to her side and the impact of her fall is absorbed by her left shoulder. Ro lands and he disperses the mist all around the area. Mika stands up and she begins panting, showing fatigue.
“She's using all her effort in avoiding his attacks.” Kurenai's father says up in the stands. “From the looks of it, she won't even pass the first match.”
“You're wrong, Mika will pull through.” Jin says.
“She's used up too much of her chakra already, if she tries to force anymore techniques she'll just be overexerting her body. Her reserves of chakra aren't that large as it stands.” Kurenai says.
Mika throws another kunai at Ro and he matches hers with one of his own. Mika's kunai contains a paper explosive on the back of it and as the two clash the bomb explodes and a large cloud of smoke comes between the two shinobi. Ro suddenly notices several pink flower petals springing from the smoke on his left side coming around him. As the smoke clears he notices Mika's body fading as if she were merging with the petals and she eventually disappears. The petals surround Ro and he suddenly notices several slash marks appearing on his body as he stands in the center of the cyclone of flower petals.
“She's talented in genjutsu.” Koji says to Kana.
“It's because of her family. The Yuhi family of Konoha, although small they specialize in genjutsu.” Kana informs.
“It seems Konoha has a ring of versatile shinobi, ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu experts...” A spectator addresses Kana from behind. She turns and looks at the old man walking down the steps in royal looking garb and two body guards beside him. “You should be really proud of your village for breeding such strong shinobi young lady.” Kana nods looking at the old man, “Although it seems as if that one out there is rather tired.” The man says. Kana turns around and looks at Mika and her slowed movements.
“You know...” Ro begins he takes out his sword and puts it out to his lower right side, blocking a slash and the blades clashing make a sound. “I really hate genjutsu.” Ro switches the grip of his blade and the end of his sword outwards and it hits Mika in chest and she goes flying backwards. He then makes the tiger seal and releases the illusion. Mika begins coughing up blood but not from Ro's strike.
“Mika-chan!” Jin exclaims.
Kurenai squints her eyes and looks down. “She's reached her limit, she used up too much of her chakra in that last technique, she was even slow enough in her movements for her opponent to predict her whereabouts.” Kurenai says. Jin grips his fist in frustration for his cousin. “She's straining her body now, with the injuries she already has.”
“Pathetic, I didn't even get to use my power...she's too weak.” Ro says to himself. Mika tries to get up and Ro makes four seals and places his left palm on the ground. “Enough, I don't have chakra to waste on you needlessly.” The ground beneath Ro begins to shake and suddenly a pillar of water shoots up like a geyser underneath Mika and she's propelled into the air and she falls to the ground. Ro begins to turn around and walk away but he stops suddenly and shifts his head to the left as a kunai flies past it. He turns his head and sees Mika kneeling on her hands and knees her right hand is out and her head it up. She pants heavily trying to stay up. Her eyes widen and she coughs up more blood.
“Alright I think we're done here.” Kiba says. “I declare—”
“No, she doesn't want it to be over yet.” Ro says. “So I'll make it so she doesn't have the choice.” Ro begins to make a hand seals but in an instant he finds himself pinned to the ground with Akamaru standing over top of him. Ro's mask falls off and he looks into the eyes of the growling canine with his brown eyes. Akamaru barks in Ro's face as his large right paw is placed down on Ro's chest.
“When I say we're done, we're done got it kid?!” Kiba shouts back. He turns around and begins to walk towards Mika.
Ro smirks slightly and blows out a small amount of mist into Akamaru's face. Akamaru's eyes begin to drift and the large dog falls over to the side. Kiba turns around and sees Ro rushing him.
**Flashback**
Night Before Final Round.
Ro stands before his jounin sensei on the outskirts of Konoha.
“The exams are unimportant to you now. You're only goal now is to test the extent of your power so we can make our report back to the Mizukage, understand?” The blind shinobi instructs his student.
“Yes sensei...but what about the other genin, There's only a few in the line up that would even pose top give me a full test of my capabilities. That Sunagakure Jinchuuriki would be a favorable match up but I'm on the other side of the roster.”
“Whatever it takes, even if you have to provoke somebody stronger than you, once we reach our objective we can make are departure from the village.”
“Yes sensei.”
**End Flashback**
Ro continues to charge Kiba as the jounin turns around. Ro's quickness gets him at point blank range of Kiba by the time Kiba turns all the way around. Kiba extends his hand out quickly and Ro runs into the jounin's palm hard. Kiba's arm doesn't move, it stays straight as a steel beam when the genin comes running into it. Kiba is firmly planted on the ground and the wind is knocked out of Ro as he runs into the jounin's hand. “You don't want to go there with me kid.” Kiba pushes Ro back several meters by flicking his his wrist and only using his hand. “Take your win and go sit down.” Ro looks to his sensei who shakes his head, signaling his student to do as Kiba says.
Ro gets his mask and puts it back on and he bows to Kiba. “My apologies.” He says in his blank tone and he heads back up into the stands. Kiba continues on his way to Mika and he picks her up. Jin comes down into the arena and heads to Kiba and Mika.
“You might want her to rest a little bit.” Kiba says.
Jin nods, taking his cousin. “I'll make sure of it.” Jin's tone is firm despite the defiance of his mother and grandfather's wishes, he seeks to assure his cousin's rest. Kiba notices this in Jin and turns around and continues on his way.
*Mika...* Koga grips his fist and looks over at the Kiri shinobi and he stare intensively at him.
“Your fight is with me first, not him.” A voice speaks inside Koga's head and he turns and looks towards the other side of the competitor's section and sees Senten staring directly at him, his eyes determined. The two shinobi stare each other down just as the intermission starts. The next round holds another match of Suna vs. Konoha.

Sorry about yesterday, I was and still am exhausted. I have still have work to do and then a cookout with the family going on right now so I won't be on much today.
