Now, comes the most important part of our training. You'll learn how to mold Raiton chakra. Below is the most versatile D-Rank technique, and after learning that, we'll start with the jutsus of method 1.

Firstly, you have to completely free your mind of unnecessary thoughts. Close your eyes, and focus upon an image of a brilliant lightning bolt. Keeping the image in mind, meditate on it's very properties, and slowly gather a small amount of chakra with your body. Focus upon your chakra. This chakra is your raw chakra. You have to imagine making your chakra vibrate at super high frequencies. If done right, you'll feel your chakra becoming tingly. This is Raiton chakra. Tell me how you feel once you do that. The process of converting raw chakra to mimic a nature of a certain element, is called nature manipulation. You're changing the nature of your chakra, in other words. If you successfully mold Raiton chakra, then you'll learn shape manipulation. Shape manipulation is the process of "shaping" your chakra to take different forms. You'll learn to release your Raiton chakra and materialize lightning from your body, as well as the ground. Now, channel your Raiton chakra to your palms, and then release it outwards, materializing lightning. After you materialize lightning, imagine shaping your chakra to form a lightning bolt. You're basically shaping the lightning to take the form of a bolt. Then, release the bolt from your hands forwards, toward the small rock situated some distance in front of you. If done right, the rock will be divided cleanly. Similarly, after you do that, gather up your Raiton chakra in your body and send it to the ground, and around the area where the medium sized dummy is situated. Then, make the lightning burst forth from the ground, and again, give it the shape of a bolt. The bolt will mutilate the dummy, if you do it right.

Bell-kun closes his eyes. He begins to think about nothing other than a sharp fierce lightning bolt descending from the sky. He begins to focus a small amount of chakra in his palm will remembering the image of the lightning bolt in his mind. Bell-kun focuses on the chakra and causes it to move up and down. He makes it vibrate faster and faster while making sure the clear image of the lightning bolt is etched in his mind. He feels a change in his chakra as he hears the chakra begins to crackle like lightning. Bell-kun feels a different type of chakra in hand but he is not done yet. He knows how the lightning feels in his hand but it is still unfocused and without shape. Bell-kun tries to put the image of the lightning bolt in his mind into practice. He shapes the lightning into the shape of a thin rod. He opens his eyes to find a lightning bolt in his palm. He releases the lightning bolt toward a rock and cuts it cleanly in half. He then does the same thing to form lightning in his palm, then Bell-kun places his hand on the ground and releases the lightning bolt. The lightning bolt cuts through the earth and goes below the dummy. The lightning bursts forth from the ground and Bell-kun shapes it into a lightning bolt that causes the dummy to be mutilated from the lightning.

Description: The user moves his palm unleashing a wave of lightning bolts at the opponent.

Simple. You gather a small amount of Raiton chakra in any of your palms, and then move it in any direction you wish. The movement of the palm, unleashes the Raiton chakra outwards, which you then shape manipulate to form a wave of several lightning bolts. This wave covers a small area, and can reach upto mid-range. I'd personally use it in short range, fooling the opponent into thinking I'm using Taijutsu, using the movement of the palm to make him/her think that I'm evading any physical attack of his/hers(if they attack), and then unleashing the lightning bolts at them, which wouldn't kill them, but temporarily shock them, which you can use a nice opening to attack.

Bell-kun begins to create an image of lightning bolts flying off into the air in his mind. He begins to concentrate the raw chakra in the palm of his hand. After he has created the raw chakra in his palm, Bell-kun thinks about the image in his head of the high frequency lightning crackling in the air. He tries to make his own chakra vibrate like that in order to gain the properties of lightning. Soon enough the raw chakra is transformed and is crackling in his palms like lightning. Then Bell-kun moves his palm forward thrusting it toward a rock and shapes the lightning into many bolts like the image in his head. The many bolts come together to form a wave of lightning bolts that bursts out of his palm and cuts into the large rock in front of him.

"That's a good way to use it Senpai. But wouldn't it backfire on you life they used a stronger wind technique? I think the technique is high risk high reward. You can paralyze them but you could also get defeated by wind or they could try to cover you with water and electrocute you."

Not really. They wouldn't have the time to react to the lightning wave, if you use it, when your body is very close to them obviously.

If they use water, the lightning would crackle through the water and instead hit them, unless it's a projectile water technique.

And, here come the C-Ranks and the above.

(Raiton: Shuurai Rappa no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Horn Technique

Description: The user will raise their hand infront of them like a sword. It will begin glowing in a pale yellow before releasing bolts of lightning in the shape of a horn that spread outwards, allowing it to attack multiple targets.

You gather Raiton chakra in any of your hands, and raise it infront of you. Your hand then begins glowing in a yellowish like color, after which you release lightning bolts, which are shaped collectively as a horn. This increases the overall range of the bolts, which causes multiple targets to be affected, within the vicinity. Weird technique though. The opponent would start his attack as soon as your hand starts glowing.

(Raiton: Shuriken Seigyo no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Shuriken Control Technique

Description: The user will take out two large shuriken or Windmill Shuriken and channel their raiton chakra into them. They will then throw them at their target to pin them down and maintain a connection with the shuriken through a electrical cable that delivers a numbing shock to paralyse the target and restrict their movements.
Note: Numbing Effect lasts for one turn.

You either take out two giant shuriken, or a single windmill shuriken, and imbue it with your Raiton chakra, which gets stored into the weapons. You then throw the shurikens or windmill shuriken at your target. The massive size of the shurikens pins your opponent down if he doesn't defend in time, and you maintain the control of the shuriken through an electrical cable. The shuriken numbs your target along with dealing physical damage. I wouldn't personally use this. Pretty useless imo.

(Raiton: Shuurai Rappa no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Lightning Strike Horn Technique

"I think this is a useful technique. It does not say it requires any hand seals so you can use it in close range. I think it is a stronger version of the D-rank technique that you taught me Senpai. It does not say it releases the lightning in a wave, but it does release several bolts of lightning. I think it is good to use in close range to catch you opponent off of their guard with the lightning bolts when trying to get close to them to use Taijutsu. Because it is in your palms, you can combine it with a punch to increase the power of your Taijutsu. It's also good because it can be used on multiple targets so you can widen the range of the lightning bolts to trap you opponent in a space or force to the move toward one direction. It can also be used to guard against something like the opponent throwing a lot of rocks at you. You don't have to worry about matching the number of rocks because this technique creates many lightning bolts."

(Raiton: Shuriken Seigyo no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Shuriken Control Technique

"I really like this technique. I really like the thought of using weapons in battle and this is a good technique to use in both short and mid-range (I think mid-range is out of arms distance but I'm not really sure, but I know it is not close enough to punch your opponent). When Naruto was learning how to use wind, it was said the wind infused weapons can cut through normal weapons, so you can combine the shuriken with lightning chakra to make the chakra vibrate and increase the shuriken's cutting power. I think it might be an overlooked technique because if you are in close range, you can throw these shuriken and if it hits them it would paralyze them for one turn. But I think it might be better to use this with smaller shuriken because it becomes more obvious with large shuriken."

( Raiton: Raisogekishin ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Rat Violent Quake

Description: After performing the required hand seals Monkey → Ox → Boar → Tiger the user releases a discharge of electricity that shapes itself into several destructive disks of lightning. These are shot at the targets with great speed.

After stringing the Monkey → Ox → Boar → Tiger handseals, you gather up a good amount of Raiton chakra in your body, which you then channel to your hands. You then manipulate your gathered chakra to release it in the form of a "discharge". Discharge meaning it branches out from your hands, similar in appearance to Chidori: Nagashi. Once this discharge is formed, you shape manipulate it to form several destructive discs. You then fling these at the opponent, and they travel with great speed and force. You can guide the discs in such an angle that they converge on your opponent and don't give time for him to react in short range. Since these discs contain lightning discharges, they can simply paralyze one without physical contact, since the lightning branches out from them. Easily counterable in mid/long ranges. Projectiles are well used in short ranges.

Description: The user concentrates a lot of lightning chakra into their hand, compressing it into a ball of lightning energy. The user can then hurl it at the enemy or trust it forward in a melee attack. Once the ball hits the target, it expands into a massive lightning explosion.

This one doesn't require handseals. After concentrating a large amount of Raiton chakra in your hand, you condense it greatly, using shape manipulation, to give your compressed chakra, the shape of a ball of pure lightning energy. You can then hurl the ball of lightning toward your opponent, or use it in short range like how a Rasengan in used, in the form of a melee attack, meaning you can hold the ball of lightning and run toward your opponent and push the ball towards him. Upon contact, the condensed chakra inside the ball is suddenly released at once, forming a massive explosion, which is fatal. Goes upto mid-range.

( Raiton: Raisogekishin ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Rat Violent Quake

"I really like the idea of this technique but I think it is harder to pull off that the other ones you've taught me because it requires 3 hand seals. But it is higher in rank so that means it is higher in power which will be useful to respond to more powerful techniques. The ability of this technique to shoot more than one disk is also very good. It gives you a wide range of space to attack and that way you can use this technique to herd your opponent into doing a certain thing. Because it is shapes as disks you can even move the lightning in tight spaces without having the lightning having it crash into something. This way you can maintain the full power of the lightning. Like you could make the disks travel in between your opponent's projectiles by rotating them at certain angles to make one of your attacks slip through. You can also attack at many different angles. But because there are so many disks you are at risk of some technique that is very very large to block all of the disks at once. But this is like what you said with how it is easy to counter, but I think it would be hard to pull off 3 hand seals in close range."

(Raiton: Sanda Appu) – Lightning Release: Thunder Up

"A very useful technique because it is so multipurpose. It can be used in two ways and it is very powerful as well being an A-rank lightning. It is more pinpoint accuracy when you are releasing the ball because it can fight into your hand, but it is also dangerous once it hits something because it explodes into a big explosion. You can force it into tight spaces or use it in close range so that you hide your hand and prevent the opponent from seeing it. From far away, I think is is easy to block, like the previous technique but from close range you can use it in order way to power up your punches. You can use this to slam your fist into something your would not ordinarily be able to punch and can really do a lot of damage if your opponent is not prepared for the lightning punch. It doesn't even require hand seals so you can use it really fast. I think is a good technique to pressure your opponent in close range."

Method 2: Currents/Wide Spread

This method will cover the concept of streams. Do you know what a stream means? In relation to our RP.

"Yes Senpai, I learned about streams when learning wind release. A stream is something that is constantly being released from an origin. I think it is like a water hose. The part of your body where the stream is being releases is like the tip of the hose, then when you release the element from the tip of the hose it can be your mouth for some flamethrower techniques that Madara was using or from your arm like the Chidori Spears that Sasuke uses, the actual releasing of the element is like holding the nozzle of the hose. So the stream is only living when you are holding down the nozzle so that means you need to keep holding it down to release the element. And like the hose, you can move the tip of the hose around in order to change direction and move the stream around. Unlike the projectiles, the stream can be changed after it is released."

Streams: A stream is a constant and well defined flow of an any material. For eg: a stream of water, a stream of fire, or a stream of lightning. Here, you gather chakra, and then simply release it in a steady flow outwards toward your target and you maintain that steady flow until the chakra you've built up for the technique is no longer there. This means that streams have their power spread out evenly throughout the technique as opposed to several individualized bursts of chakra that have their own capabilities, meaning you have to constantly focus on your chakra, however, you're free to alter the direction of your attack, since you still maintain the control over it until the amount of chakra that is built up gets exhausted.

Method 2: Currents/Wide Spread

The techniques in this next method all adhere to constant waves or currents of lightning, meaning you're constantly placing chakra into the technique as opposed to projectiles where you gather all your chakra and then release it all in one/several condensed shots. This is where the element gets into the real conductive nature of Lightning. In gathering your chakra for these techniques you will start like you would any other technique, you gather the fixed amount of chakra in the point of release. However, instead of releasing it in a confined condensed projectile you release a constant flow of lightning from the point of release and, generally through a medium like the ground, a weapon, or an object. You will not be releasing your chakra all at once, it will be flowing out of you from the point of release in a steady manor until the chakra you've built up for the technique is gone. Since you're focusing less on condensing the chakra and more on spreading it out to cover a wider range, this takes away from force and piercing ability and you get more of the electrocution properties. The techniques in this method are more so designed to have that stunning and overloading the body with lightning.

Advantages, disadvantages, etc.

"Advantage of current and widespread techniques is that they are able to to cover a much wider range than projectile based techniques. There are some trade off because you lose cutting and piercing power, but you get the diffusing power of lightning. You can use the wide spread lightning currents like Chidori Nagashi in the ways that Sasuke uses it in order to create space and prevent other ninja from getting too close and if they get too close you can punish them by spreading the current into their body causing them to go numb and have to deal with paralysis. It is more to help aid your strategies rather than a direct attack. Another advantage is that the current is able to travel through things such as the ground where Sasuke used it to diffuse the clay bombs to prevent it from exploding. You can even use it with wire and if the opponent touches the wire you can move current through it. It can't do damage by itself, but it makes openings.

Disadvantage is that you have to keep on fueling the current or else it will die out. You cannot try to continue with your strategy and just do something else, you have to see it through. This can be a risk because if you use a technique like Chidori Nagashi your opponent can try to spill water onto your body which would cause you to shock yourself. If you use it overtly and advertised that you are using a wide spread attack, even though it covers a large range, because it does not do fatal damage, it can be moved out of the way of by going far enough away and then your opponent knows exactly what your are doing. Using these types of techniques is risky because it is much easier for your opponent to respond in the moment because they know that the only thing you can do in the moment is that one wide spread technique so they may try to take advantage of it and cut you short."

Advantages of Method

Unlike projectiles, currents remain within the control of the user rather the all control of it being lost on release. Due to them being a continuous expulsion of chakra, the user maintains control of the technique throughout its entire use. Since the user maintains this control it enables Raiton to be used much more for defensive and supplementary reasons, rather than offense alone which is usually the initial misconception. The user following their chakra allows for them to construct armours, enhance weapons and use raiton directly from their body to electrocute anyone in the immediate vicinity of the user.

Continuous expulsion of chakra allows for techniques to last far longer than projectiles since the total amount of released Raiton chakra has to equal to that of the technique's rank.

Disadvantages of Method

Another glaring disadvantage is, whilst using the jutsu, due to it requiring a continuous release of chakra, a new technique can't be used until the 1st is finished. This becomes a problem for weapon enhancing jutsu, which will cease to be useful the moment the chakra flow to the weapon is removed to perform another jutus.

The final disadvantage to this method would have to be, that to flow a current, most jutsu require a medium of some sort. Flowing a current would need the user to use the ground as a way of conducting it, Nagashi requires a continuous release from the user's body and Wave of inspiration requires a body of water to be conducted along.

Description: The user will concentrate their chakra and slam their hand on the ground to release a surge of lightning across the ground to the opponents feet to shock them.

Pretty simple. Req no handseals. After concentrating your Raiton chakra in your hand, you slam it on the ground, and at the moment of impact, release the chakra evenly across the ground. The chakra travels in the form of a surge of lightning, at a high speed. It extends only upto short range. It can shock your opponent's feet, or whatever body part is in contact with the ground. Good for quick paralyzation, and the opponent would have barely any time to react. But, since it only shocks a small part of his/her body, he/she can meanwhile still be free to use his other body parts to attack you. I'd say, you follow up with a trapping technique. Obviously, you can change the direction of the stream as you wish, but until the stream reaches your opponent, you have to keep your hands slammed.

Bell-kun begins to concentrate a decent amount of lightning chakra in the palm of his hands. After he gathers the lightning chakra, he faces his palm down toward the ground and Bell-kun slams his palm on the ground. As Bell-kun's palm collides with the ground he spreads the lightning chakra that was in his palm evenly on the surface of the ground. He moves the lightning chakra on the surface of the ground with great speed.

"Senpai, can I instead of slamming my hand of the ground, use this with taijutsu and slam the lightning palm into my opponent?"

Though that would be very much deviating from the description, you can do it within short range, I presume. I'll ask my sensei and confirm it.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Tiger → Snake → Dog the user creates an electric current from their hand that can hit multiple individuals at the same time. Furthermore, it extends into incredible distances and can avoid obstacles.

After stringing 3 handseals, you gather your Raiton chakra in your hand as before. Then, you manipulate your gathered chakra in such a way, so that it is evenly spread out, thereby, an electric current would be released linearly, extending upto long range, which is pretty great, however, as always, you need to maintain focus upon your chakra to let the current travel that far. The current travels pretty fast, and spreads throughout the opponent's body quickly and paralyzes him. Remember, streaming currents usually do more of a numbing damage, than high piercing damage. Can you answer why?

Description: This jutsu allows the user to create a wave of electricity from the user's hands. This jutsu can vary in power from a small surge to shock an opponent to a powerful stream of lightning capable of ripping through solid rock. It is ideal to use in conjunction with a water jutsu.

A filler technique. After gathering your Raiton chakra in your hands, you spread it uniformly throughout, and manipulate in such a way, that instead of having a mid/long range vertical reach, it has more of a horizontal reach, meaning like Chidori: Nagashi, the lightning branches out, spreading sidewards at a quick rate, thereby giving it a wave like appearance. It looks very much in appearance like Nagashi. You can either create a small surge of lightning or create a strong enough wave to rip through rock. When you use it with a water technique, you boost the water technique's damage by 10 pts, and it extends upto long range, as water conducts lightning.

( Raiton: Raigeki) - Lightning Release: Electric Attack

"I think that streaming currents do less piercing damage because they are so wide spread. I know that piercing damage comes from pressure and pressure comes from force over the area. So the more area the lightning has to cover the less pressure it is able to make. So I think lightning techniques that cover large areas like this technique that current that can travel far and attack multiple targets has to sacrifice piercing power and can only diffuse into the body to paralyze. I like this technique for the reasons you stated Senpai, the only hard part is the hand seals. I feel like this would be a much better technique in close range if you can combine with with Taijutsu. But the range and the ability to make the currents avoid things is very useful."

(Raiton: Jibashi) - Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder

"I don't like this technique very much as a combination attack. It only goes to short range so it is not very useful in cutting or ripping through things that are far away, and I don't know who the use water so I can't make a combination yet. I also think that since you have to use 2 techniques, when I was told you can only use 3 for your whole move, makes you at a disadvantage cause you can't experience the full potential of the lightning technique by itself. But I think it is much more useful that the last technique when you use it with Taijutsu, because it doesn't need any hand seals and has the ability to pierce and even shatter through rock, so it ca easily harm the opponent."

Very good. You have a good grasp over the basic concepts. These were simple ones, hence I didn't ask you to list the jutsus for this method. But, now, since we've covered the easy ones, list all the techs that would fall in method 2, excluding the ones I've taught you ofc.
