Naruto Senju?

So this might have been addressed earlier but I thought that you had to be a Senju in order to become Asura's reincarnation. All of Indra's were Uchiha. So why is Naruto the next in line after all of those generations of them being Senju. Is the Uzumaki clan or Namikaze clan descendants from the Senju clan?

The Uzumaki clan are distant relatives of the Senju clan, so as long as u r a descent of Asura, he can reincarnate into you. That or maybe Minato Namikaze is related to the Senju Clan.

I guess if Senjus are extinct that would explain Ashura was probably forced to hop over to the closest cousin. It also means that if Uchihas go extinct that wouldn't be the end of it, because the Uchiha cousins are the Hagoromo clan, if they're still around.

EDIT: Tsunade is Hashirama's granddaughter, so the Senju are technically only extinct in name.
