Momo was getting wrecked by the duo. Both Naruto and Sasuke have the speed to solo.

This movie shows how much stronger they've gotten since the war. Their combination in battle surpasses any other duo in NV. Sasuke's speed and his taijutsu as always is magnificent, keeping up with Naruto even having just one hand; And the way naruto handled sasuke's sword was great. But kishi made this movie NaruSasu version of the last. Naruto was like all mad when sasuke got hurt like when he went kyuubi mode after pain stabbed hinata (lol). But sasuke healed from that...I always knew we had more to expect from his special variant of the rinnegan with rikudou chakra

Naruto was unrusting himself in the movie, according to spoilers. Which is why his clone during the birthday scene went poof.
