It's between Kakashi and Sasuke, they're still not normal. Naruto is third and Gaara well he's not even worth discussing.

Between Gaara and Sasuke for me.. Can't imagine how damaging it is to know that those who are supposed to actually love you want you dead (that includes his mother).. But then i also can't imagine having all that love you've known taken away from you by your own brother.

Have to say Sasuke. Got the most perennial mental torture out of all of them, and had a wider growth of love before it dissipated

In real life, that’s like your household and all your aunties uncles and cousins gettin killed too
and for your brother to do it who you admired and loved the most..and because of political conflict. whew
I think that’s more tragic than being a hated orphan, a hated royalty, or a kid who was ashamed of his father and then can’t protect his closest friends,
And then going past childhood,
everyone recovered relatively quick without falling too deep in darkness
Sasuke went way crazier and took way longer to recover & he’s still not completely good

I’d have to say kakashi was an easy last, though his childhood and life were definitely still tragic. I’d probably rank gaara number one since his dad took everything away from him, including the love of his mother and forcing the one person gaara trusted to try and kill gaara. If it wasnt for naruto tnj’ing him, I wonder what kind of monster gaara would’ve become. Sasuke would come in second because like gaara he had the love of his family (and literally his family) stolen away from him and was tortured by his brother, who he idolized until that point. But unlike gaara, sasuke still has the village there for him while he grew up. Naruto takes third, while his life was tragic and he literally spent it alone and had no one there for him while he grew up, he never suffered the same way gaara and sasuke did. He suffered for a long time and he suffered deeply, but being alone isn’t as bad as missing what it was like when you weren’t alone and as awful as it is, naruto never knew what t was like to not be alone until he was already heading into his teens

Yeah this ^ I think gaara and sasuke are real close, but sasuke eeks out a win here. Then nardo, then kakashi, kakashis probably a distant last too, but that’s really partly on him for spinning it into something more positive.

had no friends then finally made friends, one "died" and he feels guilt from not being able to save him
had to kill the other one
sensei died leaving him alone again
had 3 students and one of em became a rogue ninjas so he must've sensed some failure as a teacher
friend comes back evil adding more to his guilt
friend then starts to come around the dies for real
