You don't have to defend Kishi's laziness. Dude admitted as much (Shikadai being the most egregious example), but calling out it is still fair.

He was talking about Shikidai being a clone, but he was intentionally calling out the characters who literally act like their parents and don't have uniqueness at all.

To be fair, I only really see this being an issue for Shikidai and Metal Lee.

Well, have his own jutusu is something. It's more than I can say for the Dragon Ball characters who all **** ride the same Kamehameha. At least Vegeta comes up with new signature moves every fight.

True. My problem is that shadow clones + rasengan combos become his signature move.

That's why I used the word dojutsu. It encompasses Sharingan, Rinnegan and Byakugan. You forgot the part where Boruto has an eye scar similar to Kakashi and on the same side of his face as Kakashi.

Actually Kakashi's scar is on the left side, and Boruto's is on the right side. Regardless I don't think that matters much because the 'scar' is definitely the problem here, since the forte is Kakashi's.

My problem with this stems from what will happen: If a scenario takes place in which someone asks him to take their eye after the previously saved Boruto's life and they ended up 'dying' instead, then I'll call it out as bull-shit for sure. Because that's basically Kakashi/Obito's story.

I'll be okay with the twist if it deals with something more. I feel with more information being added about Boruto's 'blue eyes being an important piece for the future, that him having a scar on his eye adds more to that effect, rather than looking at it because Kakashi had one.

We'll know for sure later but that's just me being optimistic.

The point I was trying to make, is that Boruto seems to be a character with the composite of attributes from popular characters from the Narutoverse.

I don't really see how looking like his dad is a terrible thing. They have differences though, not substantial, but at least he has a lot more going for him in the outfit, hair, and personality department than some of these children who either look exactly like their parents, horrible mixture of their parents, or even wear the same clothes as their parent(s) did in the past.

You can't win them all. Plus I don't see why shaming him for utilizing shadow clones or Rasengan is a big deal -- Minato used them, Jiraiya used them, Kakashi has them both, **** even Konohamaru uses it.

Boruto has the right too doesn't he? With him being the son of Naruto, and being under Konohamaru sensei.

Trained under Sasuke and so far, he's picked up kenjutsu from him. Plus, Boruto wants to be a shinobi like Sasuke and wander outside the village and protect it from threats.

Well I don't see an issue with this either. This makes him branch out from Naruto who only fights with fists, Boruto using weapons adds a different dynamic. More so, this kind of goes with what you were saying earlier. If you have a problem with him using some of Naruto's jutsu/abilities, why is this necessarily an issue too?

IMO it is vague what Boruto actually wants to do in the future. He said he wants to protect Sarada, be her right-hand man. That does not necessarily mean he wants to leave the Village and never come back. We'll have to see though.

It's not so much about originality, as TPTB deliberately going out of their way to make Boruto as similar to other popular characters of the same series. And like I said, only Boruto's attitude is unique to him. But everything else is borrowed.

I have to see it though, but I get your point anyway. However, I feel like we'll be making the same argument for everyone else too.

It won't be long till Mitsuki/Sarada get revealed to be attributes of other popular characters: Kabuto, Itachi, etc.

For example, Sarada is listed as having Lightning Ninjutsu, Shuriken Jutsu, and Genjutsu attributes. They could very well make her out to be spamming Sasuke's ninjutsu, have her using Itachi's shuriken jutsu/genjutsu, and spamming CES from Sakura. Making her seem like what Boruto is painted out to be in your image, but whilst having her own personality.

I feel like it will be hard to extinguish since we have seen EVERYTHING already.

Except that Boruto is a main protagonist and I don't mean everything literally like Sasuke and going rogue especially knowing that Boruto is the one try to defend the village against kaweki. After Boruto recieved a seal from Momo; he made his inner diaologue
"going his own ninja way" which makes his character more unpredictable despite knowing that he'll be sarada right hand man; during prior I think what's stopping from going to that path is that he puts everyone in danger because of his seal or something that's he no longer in the position to do anything.

I would like to see him try to avoid his own teammate to keep them safe and has his own way of dealing his own problem going through his own mental struggles, ofc their teammate are really genuine friends who try to insisted Boruto the truth. We know Boruto likes to keep it to himself similar to the cheating device.

With Kaweki in the other hand, I am getting the impression that he always failed to win over boruto because Boruto seemed to get shocked about how Kaweki grown stronger and stoop really low destroying the village to confront Boruto.

Boruto didn't make any clitche line like any Shonen MC usually does when they say something along a line of "It'll will never end, I will still protect while I am standing" or "I'll never give up". Instead he was more or less agreeing with Kaweki.

Boruto is way better written character than Naruto, he's unique and was born as a gifted prodigy unlike his father. Even Naruto himself stated that his son behavior was unprecedented neither like Naruto or Sasuke which means boruto has his own mixed traits from other characters as well his concept and his name is a reminiscent to his uncle neji. Which means Boruto is his own originality and ofc he has some personality aspect stems from his father and Sasuke except that he's far more disingenuous , more sarcastic type and has low enthusiasm. Kishi himself said that Boruto is more crafty, more refined and much more matured on how the world works.
