I'm talking when Pein attacked the Leaf Village this is where he got his experience however way the important bit is he fought him then and beat him in the Leaf Village where he got the experience, and even in the tree where Nagato still tried to gain control of Naruto that didn't work though the time you talk of doesn't count he was brought back through that stupid justu that Kabuto used and made him pretty much unbeatable but even then Itachi still saved Naruto even though Prime Nagato supposed to be all that haha
