Hiruzen doesn't need to know where Asuma is. I'm pretty sure in one of the recent chapters, I think Naruto was having a flashback of his life and everyone witnessed it and one of the things I'm pretty sure was Asuma's death and Hiruzen noticed.

Hiruzen probably took care of him in his early years (probably up til 4) without getting too attached to him. Must akready been revealed to Hiruzen that Asuma is dead. Remember when the SA saw Naruto's heart?

I know asuma and hiruzen never got along but still why hasnt he noticed anything lol

Hiruzen's main purpose is to hype Itachi the Solo King (Hokage level intelligence at the age of 7!) NOT Naruto who isn't as cool as Itachi!

Kakashi told Naruto that he leave everything to him before going into the Kamui dimension. I think Sakura and Sai knows it too.
