Naruto is still a genin.
So to become a Hokage.. he needs to go through all the exams (from gening-chuunin-jounin-hokage). Naruto have beaten a lot of powerful opponents. Thats freaking lame :shrug: :flaw: :sy:

I Don't believe it was ever stated that to become hokage you must go through the ranks...

You just need to be suited for the position - aka strongest in the village and smart enough to run it

actually i think even if he is still a genin to become hokage he would just have to be recognised by the entire village and they would have to approve of him becoming the hokage , the other ranks i believe he has to go through an exam

He is genin but he is treated like a jounin.
He gets alot of 'A' and 'B' ranked missions.

Honestly his performance in the war etc and fighting pain, Tsunade could never let him do the chuunin exams.. he'd demolish every one thus causing noone to go up that year... he'll just be given a promotion .. he is stronger than the hokage after all ..

There is only Chuunin exams, and Hokage chooses Jonins.

yeah. chuunin exams in the early chapters were cancelled. but tsunade made shikamaru a chuunin.
a rank is only up to the villages kage. she can declare naruto as a jounin the moment she feels like it
