Can I just say, IT'S AN ANIME/MANGA! IT COMES FROM JAPAN! Black people are not native to Japan as far as I can tell from my Japanese history class. So how does that make him not including black people racist? There are plenty of manga and anime that don't have black people in them at all. They're not racist. They just come from Japan.

i don't think he is trying to say its racist, but he is saying how come they are lots of white people . , its hard to tell because in the west people think the japan animations are drawings of white people, when they colour them with light eyes and light hair e.t.c

Hmmm.......aren't the kumo people black folk? Plus there's rap with Killer B, I think that and his skin color mean that he should be considered a black person?

I'm black myself but I have to say, it is quite rediculous to complain about this, Naruto is all about the ninja life and last time I checked, ninjutsu is a martial art that oroginates and is practiced in japan, where asian people live, and not black people.

Plus the buddist/shinto references throughout the series is proof enough that this anime/manga has nothing to do with black people, its like making a movie about african culture but with asian or european (white) actors, that would be stupid.

I was suprised actually when I first saw Bee, A and the others, I never ever once thought that there should be black people in Naruto, although now that I've seen them, I kinda like their style,lol.

But anyway I'm surprised at the fighting style kishi chose for them, I mean A and B fight like wrestlers, which is predominately a carcasian fighting style, and the others like darui and them using swords?

A variation of boxing would have made more sense and customized spears, since africans in the past used to use those, but meh, who cares, Kishi aint racist and the Kumo shinobi rock.

It's not racist, it's regional and deals with the climate. People with darker skin come from the Land in the Clouds, where the sun is stronger and over time, darkened their skin. It's natural selection.

I swear people don't even know what racism means anymore and just associate it with anything.
Its good that he has any black people at all in Naruto. The initial audience for Naruto would be Japanese males. Thats why they have more white people because, shock, horror, gasp! Japanese people aren't black. It's not racism, just being more realistic.

A is leading an army composed of the greatest shinobi nations.

Bee is one of the strongest Jinchuuriki and IMO is still the strongest (until Naruto gets a hold of Kurama completly)

So it's not really racist. Also I feel those who actually pay attention to the race of people in a manga, where there has been no steriotypes exploited is really the racist one.

However there is the whole, killerbee rapping thing...I don't have an excuse for that.

It's a Japanese manga/anime.... have you ever seen a black Asian (I AM NOT RACIST) but kishi putting some black people into naruto actually makes him the opposite of racist and proves he's not IMO

With killerbee rapping, that's not racism it's stereotyping which can be interpreted as good or bad. It's a generalisation.
And besides, only 1 of the black characters rap, the rest just speak normally. Naruto is the only character who is crazy for ramen and can eat 20 bowls. Does that mean that all Japanese people only eat 20 bowls full of miso pork ramen within one sitting?

as for this thread, i don't see how kishi is racist, since killer-bee is one of the main character in the story who is kinda OP. If anything think the manga itself is racist towards Asians because none of the characters look Asian at all, the only Anime that went big worldwide that had people in there that look Asian was dragon ball z.
