In order to become a general you have to learn alot about it so you'll get knowledge(you need knowledge to do that job).
But Naruto has nothing to do with real life.
If you compare Naruto to real life logic then this manga is a waste of time.

I think Sasuke could be considered like the VP equivilent to the Hokage you know? I understand that Shikamaru is Naruto's advisor but I feel like he has to be moved up in the ranks to like a top tier status and Vice/Co - Hokage sounded appropriate to me I mean like you said he rivals the most powerful hokage ever and he easily outclassed Kakashi when he was hokage. If anything they remind me of a stronger version of the Senju brothers (aka the 1st and 2nd Hokages)

Sasuke isn't a Genin, he went from Genin to S-Rank by the time he sat Naruto's ass down in the Retrieval Arc, theb he went from S-Rank to Sage of 6 Paths

I wouldn't say Co-Hokage. Imo the Hokage is just a figurehead. Sasuke is more of the Shadow Hokage, with no rank, like Danzo.

Ninja ranks don't mean anything, and all of them are titles shinobi are appointed to.

Naruto and Gaara both jumped from Genin to Kage, because they were appointed.

Killer Bee, Deidara, Hanzo all held no official rank, but easily had Jonin to Kage level skills.


Ranks in Leaf are sand bags. You take Chunin Exams to become Chunin, and meet certain (subjective) requirements and become a Jonin. You'll take the time to appreciate that the Cloud, Mist and Stone villages didn't send shinobi to the Chunin Exams, before Boruto The Movie. Those villages also are the most militant of the 5 Great Nations. The appoint their shinobi based on merit and performance in the field. Recall that most of the Leaf Chunins talked about what it takes to be a Chunin, but outside of the K11, nearly all of them were desk jockies and paper pushers.
