Ok so first I want to point out how Hashirama's wood style has its roots (no pun intended) in the God Tree's tree...ness. It's wood, he releases it, trees are wood, you get the point. But it goes further. Look at the flowers that release the sleep powder, they resemble the flower that blooms on the God Tree to reveal it's eye. Hashirama can use his wood to absorb chakra just like the roots of the Shinju. His wood also posses the ability to restrict the tailed beasts, which are manifestations of the Shinju's chakra. So, whereas Madara has the ocular powers of the tree's Rinnesharingan, Hashirama has the body, which in this case is the wood of the tree rather than the eye.
As for the eye, it is known that the tree is heavily associated with the divine as well as the demonic. The Rinnegan posses the ability to summon the King of Hell who in the manga appears to be surrounded by the same flames Amaterasu summons. This leads me to believe that the Rinnegan as well as the Sharingan call upon the powers of Hell. Amateresu is the flames of Hell, Susanoo could possibly be astral manifestations of the angelic overseers of Hell mixed with the user's own chakra, as their perfect form often features angelic wings. Tsukyomi is almost like a projected hell, allowing the user to inflict traumatizing mental and physical pain on the target over and over again for what seems like an eternity in their perspective. I believe that the Shinigami are neither associated with Hell or Heaven but rather act as an intermediary that are in charge of banishing souls to hell or whatever other destination there is (its left pretty vague).
Sharingan represents fate, judgement, Hell, while Rinnegan represents divine commanding power, able to command the King of Hell itself, gravity itself, animals, life and death, etc. Rinnesharigan is obviously the unity of those, and that is what the God tree is, both divine and demonic.
According to Kishi originally the tree was born from the blood of the fallen, and Naruto's biggest theme is that of how human's lust for power and lack of an ability to set aside grudges and seek peace through forgiveness gives rise to unending war and pain. So the Shinju, this God-like entity that was brought into existence through war, and tempts humans to use its power to bring about even more destruction and chaos in the process become Gods represents what humanity has becoming through war in reality. Because in reality through war we have achieved such things as the Atomic Bomb, which pretty clearly is heavily symbolized in the manga by the destructive capabilities of the 10 tail's tailed beast bombs that annihilated entire cities and towns. Along with that it revolutionized how we run our governments and control people and use people to wage wars through systematic propaganda etc, Kaguya wanted to turn people into Zetsus stripping them of their free will, well look at North Korea and how those people have basically had their free will stripped from them by an all-powerful government.
So really the Shinju is a representation of the power that war has created and entrusted to humans, but that power is both divine and demonic in nature and while it can be used for good when infused with cooperation, hope, and friendship, which we see through Naruto's cooperation with the tailed beasts, in reality it is used as a threat, as a way to keep people down, as a way to benefit the privileged who have inherited it and merely seek to advance their own selfish or deranged agendas.
And the 10 tailed beast with its 3 faces showing hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil, it drives home that this is humanity's sin and it is a sin we must face together or it will be the downfall of many to benefit the manipulative and greedy.
Deep right?
Till this day Japan is still shaken by the horrors of the Atomic Bomb and now that technology is even greater, with bombs existing hundreds if not thousands if not millions of times more powerful than what we dropped on Hiroshima. North Korea is basically what Kaguya became, they want to use this godlike power that was brought into existence through technological breakthroughs in warfare during the World Wars and use it to advance their own interests, specifically the power trip that motivates Kim Jong un.
So if North Korea blows us up just know Naruto predicted it.
