[Discussion] Naruto-Post Kaguya

I cannot blame Kishimoto ...because he created this beautiful Manga, which captured all who experienced its tasetful and rich words and pictures. Now, now, where are we?

I can say with uttermost honesty, that the Manga I once loved is total dull carbon copy of what it used to be. This HAS nothing to do with Kaguya, or any of the current power ups. Yes those ideas ruined the Manga but you see, there was still promise in a way Kishimoto could of relayed those characters with intensity that we could of loved Kaguya. But no, we were forced it down our throats and could not muster enough strength to question as we swallowed this tasteless story.

The last chapters of Naruto are being wasted and I really feel sorry for everyone. That we followed this masterpiece for so many years and for it to come to an end this way, will anyone want Naruto afterwards? Kishimoto has thoroughly and fluently explained to us that he is done with this Manga, and a Part 3? Why would you want him to ruin our image of the Manga further? Unanswered questions? Of course, he ran out of time, and he lost interest.

Lastly, I'm in no way ranting but merely explaining the "matter of things". If you can say that you enjoy Naruto today, you are really lying to yourself.

I don't mind it much, I definitely can't say I enjoyed it as much as I used to. But that may be for a number of reasons. Such as the quality of the series going or maybe just me getting older and growing out of it.

The entire manga fell apart after the Pain Invasion concluded.

One could say that the build-up to the War was okay, and that it fell apart during the War arc.

It isn't so much the content of the story, but the way it was presented and the delivery of plot. Far too many abilities became single-use plot items with contrived back-stories (Izanagi was 'spammed' so much by the Uchiha that Izanami was created... really?). We also got far too much disregard for the 'rules' - things just simply seemed to happen because of friendship, or something.

Characters like Kaguya scream of depth and untold stories ... yet are presented as cardboard cut-outs to be destroyed. Kaguya was the first villain Naruto never once bothered to understand - yet she was one of the only ones to openly shed tears. You know - the whole PREMISE of the story.

Yet, the guy hellbent on killing him is 'his friend.'

Completely destroyed Naruto's character because he was essentially Sasuke all throughout the fight with Kaguya. Hellbent on sealing her away without so much as a care in the world.

The Byakugan just kind of sits as a white elephant in the room.

We'll dedicate two pages to explaining how Izanami works - and it only is used once - but the Byakugan appears on one of the 'final villains' of ancient times without so much as a "Uh... what gives?"

Now we have both Naruto and Sasuke running around with power they just inherited and using it like they have trained for years with it. Which is what has been going on for the past two years, or more, in the manga.

Where did Sasuke get the idea that he could use the tailed beasts like he is? Everybody just seems to know how to use enough power to vaporize mountains to do exactly what they want to do. No training required - all abilities are Plug&Play compatible.

We've advanced so far beyond 'bad guys who just know a bit more and don't have to explain how they know' - that we have major story characters acting like they've mastered things they could not have known until the moment they performed said action.

Which - that does happen in manga and in other stories - but it's a product of lazy writing. "Oh, I bet this will be good." - without stopping to consider whether or not the character -should- be able to do such a thing within the plot at this point in time.

When you consider that the events of the past two years have pretty much occurred all within a few hours - it just loses any of the 'magic' it once had. "You didn't notice it - but your brain did."

Sasuke took weeks to recover from the eye transplant. Naruto gets open-heart surgery on the field and returns more powerful than he ever was moments later. Naruto took a week to use his wind element (using a 'speed boost'); Sasuke studied for years under Orochimaru to learn to use Chidori in the way that he does... Naruto restores Kakashi's eye using magic he mastered for no reason - Sasuke knows his new eye will allow him to swap places with things and does it without practice.

The pacing and plot delivery is terrible.

Characters quickly became flat and one-dimensional.

The story effectively has no rules, and therefor has no suspense and no meaning. The only reason most of us pay attention to it is because we've already invested ourselves for so long that we can't bear to not see it through to its conclusion.

It's still better than the Star Wars prequels - but Naruto and Sasuke are a worse love story than Twilight.
