I don't know how some smilies got in there. >.<
The angelic scent of the wind drifted around Naruto, swaying the tips of his tawny hair. However, another scent was blended with the wind, coming from behind. The aroma smelled of delectable cinnamon, and there was only one person in Konohagakure who smelled this way. Naruto closed his eyes, drinking in the scent. He was attempting to remember who loved cinnamon. Somebody was here, that was for sure.
"But who would want to hide from me?", Naruto asked himself.
Naruto was unaware of the lavender-white eyes gazed at him through the stiff green bushes behind him.
Hinata sighed wistfully, as she eyed Naruto. He was funny and friendly, yet again, he was treated as an outcast. Almost everybody paid him insufficient attention. Yes, he may have been agitating when he was younger, but he has proven his skill many times over.
Was it the Nine-Tail Fox that everybody was suspicious of?
Hinata deliberately closed her eyes, yearning for Naruto to talk to her. However, Hinata would probably get fatigued, as she always did, if she approached him herself. It didn't take a lengthy time for a decision to be determined.
"Hinata! I figured it was you! Why are you sheltering back here? Aren't you in pain?", Naruto's obscuring voice startled Hinata. She gradually shifted her absorbing gaze to look at Naruto. Such tenderness swam in the blue depths of his eyes, like petite minnows. Hinata realized that she was unable to break her gaze with him. She surveyed him, desperately searching his eyes for any hatred and suspicion.
"Is everything okay?", Naruto urged Hinata to speak.
Only pure affection and sincerity glowed along with the lifetime worth of devotion, that could sweep any malice away from the world. Naruto blinked at her.
"You know, you ought to check out your hand.", Naruto examined Hinata's left hand. A small twig stuck out from the middle, the wound bleeding. Hinata sighed, and grasped the grass as Naruto wrapped his firm hand around the twig.
"Are you ready?", Naruto inquired, as Hinata prepared herself.
"Um..."
Naruto pulled the twig, yanking it out.
"Ow!"
A sudden pain exploded in Hinata's hand, blood surging from the revolting cut. Hinata began to scream in agony, but Naruto dabbed a damp piece of cloth on the injury. He placed the cloth down, and then, rummaged through his backpack, until he pulled out a white bandage roll.
Naruto wrapped the clean bandage around Hinata's bleeding hand, effortlessly and serenely. He used his acute silver scissors to cut the bandage when blood didn't bleed through it. Remembering Sakura's teachings, Naruto finished wrapping the bandage on the gruesome wound by placing a piece of tape on the bandage.
"This is to keep the bandage in place.", Naruto explained, as he reorganized his backpack. When Hinata didn't say anything, Naruto turned to her. Hinata realized quickly that she had to say something, rapidly.
"Thank you, Naruto. I owe you.", Hinata alleged, tranquilly.
Naruto's eyes flickered, and he crawled up to Hinata. He brushed Hinata's hair from her young face, and smiled. Hinata gazed at Naruto as he breathed in her ear.
"I'd do anything for you to be happy.", Naruto whispered, his ramen breath tickling Hinata's gentle ears. He placed himself next to Hinata, and slid closer. The next thing Hinata knew was that Naruto kissed her, softly.
"What do I say?", Hinata wailed inside.
She didn't want to lose Naruto's respect, but she didn't want to act like she was ignoring him. Hinata made her decision, and returned the kiss.
"Hinata, I do have a question.", Naruto's voice surprised Hinata, and she turned to look at him. He smiled, as he pulled a small white box from his pocket, tied like a gift with a satin red ribbon.
Naruto crawled in front of Hinata, and knelt down. He slipped the giftbox in her delicate hand. Hinata pulled off the glorious ribbon, and popped the lid open. Her eyes widened with disbelief as a divine red ring looked at her.
"Hinata Hyuga, will you marry me?", Naruto queried, still on his knees. Hinata looked at Naruto, and smiled.
"Of course.", she murmured, softly. Naruto smiled, and hugged Hinata. She smiled back. No day could be better than this one.

Hinata bounded home, joy filling her heart. She didn't realize Kurenai attempting to feed Mayonaka some peaches. Hinata just dashed up the carpet stairs, and flung herself into her warm bed. Footsteps told Hinata that Kurenai was coming. Hinata's guess was correct as Kurenai entered the room.
"Is something wrong, Hinata?", she demanded, her red eyes glimmering with sadness.
"No, actually, Naruto wants me to marry him.", Hinata corrected, smiling. Kurenai gazed at Hinata, silently, her expression unreadable. Kurenai sat down beside Hinata, sighing wistfully.
"It seems so long since you were just an Academy Student. Now, you are a Chuunin, and I...I guess I miss that about you.", Kurenai murmured, as if she were talking to herself. Hinata glanced at her former sensei, and sighed.
"Naruto has given me so much strength; other than you, he loves me. Naruto doesn't resent me because I may not do well in battle, he loves me because I have the determination to keep going.", Hinata chose her words freely, as she spoke with Kurenai.
When Kurenai seemed slightly doubtful, Hinata decided to change the subject.
"How is Mayonaka?", she asked. Kurenai had her baby during the Fourth Shinobi World War, and the baby had the looks of both of his parents. It was easy to regonize the strong muscles underneath the chubby skin. Mayonaka had a fair resemblance to his father, whom he got his hair color and heighth from. However, Mayonaka only had his mother's red eyes.
"He is doing fine, but he needs to learn to like peaches." Kurenai seemed pleased to change the subject.
Hinata nodded, and smiled.
"I miss you, Kurenai.", she blurted out.
Kurenai rested her red gaze on Hinata, and sighed.
"My life as a shinobi isn't over, but Mayonaka needs to come first. That is the promise I made to Asuma.", Kurenai repeated the familiar words. She blinked at Hinata, and smiled.
"I wouldn't change a thing about my life. Whatever happens, you just have to endure it, with all the possible strength." Kurenai's words were wise.
"I wouldn't change mine, either. It may have been unfair when I was younger, but because of that, I'm a strong person.", Hinata admitted, fingering the purple sheets of her large bed.
Kurenai seemed to notice Hinata's anxiety to sleep, because she rose from the bed. Hinata slipped herself under the warmth of the purple layers, and smiled. Her sensei was always there, and had been ever since Hinata's father deserted her.
"Now, it is my turn to be there for Kurenai."
Hinata vowed her last words before darkness covered her, sweeping sleep over her.

Anko strolled out of the stiff green bushes, hoping that the man with epic gray hair wouldn't notice her. He dwelled on broad silver rock, reading the final book that Jiriaya had authored.
Anko stepped forward, and hesitantly tapped on Kakashi's shoulder.
Kakashi leapt out of his position, his eyes narrow. Two small Shurikens accelarated toward Anko. They met her tan coat, and by the sleeves, pinned her on a nearby tree. Anko screamed as a Kunai zipped forward for her face
"It's me, Anko!", she shrieked to Kakashi, not knowing where he was.
Kakashi whipped in front of her, and managed to catch the Kunai before it sliced her. He pulled the Shurikens out of her coat sleeves.
Anko fell to her knees, breathing heavily. She had been unusually close to fatal injury. She looked at Kakashi, who rested beside her.
"Lean on my shoulder.", Kakashi's voice startled the exhausted Anko, still in shock. Anko nodded cautiously, and leaned on Kakashi's bulky shoulder.
"Do you forgive me, Anko?", Kakashi's warm breath winded around Anko, and she smiled. The whispering wind made their thick hair sway. Anko nodded, and hugged Kakashi.
"I forgive you.", she aquired, closing her blunt golden eyes. Kakashi wrapped his arm around Anko, and pulled her close.
"I will always protect you from now on.", he promised solemnly. A muffled racket made Anko turn around. Kakashi was digging through his usually organized backpack for something. He pulled out a small scroll, and handed it to Anko.
"This is to learn my newest jutsu, Fighting Shadow. If any harm comes to you, use this jutsu to summon me.", Kakashi explained, his eyes focused on Anko.
Anko took a deep breath, and accepted the gift. She smiled at Kakashi.
"Will the jutsu bring a clone of you, or yourself?", Anko appealed, trying to make sure she didn't chagrin Kakashi, especially when he gave her such a wonderful gift.
"The jutsu will bring me, but I can make clones, too.", Kakashi chuckled, winking at Anko.
Anko nodded, and hugged Kakashi.
"Thank you, Kakashi, I will use it only if I desperately need you.", Anko promised, as she rose her to feet. The sun was beginning to set, and she still had a mission to do. She slipped the thin scroll in her backpack, and continued her walk.
Even though she was only a few yards away, now, Anko knew that Kakashi was still watching.

Anko continued her walk, preparing for any enemies to attack. This was the dim place where she would be crossing the border to Otogakure. Orochimaru always had sentinels around this area. This would be the most risky part of Anko's mission. It didn't take long before an enemy leapt down from a tree.
He had no headband, signalling to Anko that he was an inexperienced fighter.
Anko had very well developed Ninjutsu, so began her attack with her famous hand seals; Snake, Dragon, Hare, and Tiger. Without any hesitation, she blew fire upon the ropes harnessed to the enemies.
Anko knew that the jutsu worked when she heard oppressive screams from the trees. While the enemies were weakened, Anko dashed the other direction.
"I have completed my mission.", Anko declared. She realized that she was wrong when hands gripped her slender arms.
"Not so fast.", a voice contended Anko calmly, as if he were toying with her.
Anko remembered that she had read Kakashi's scroll before she leapt into battle, and she could easily do one hand jutsus. Anko closed her eyes, and began using her signs; Tiger, Dragon, Tiger, Hare, Rat.
Within the blink of an eye, Kakashi appeared, after some black smoke cleared. The man released Anko, but Kakashi grabbed him by his coat, and some chakra began glowing in Kakashi's hand palm.
When the chakra was big enough, Kakashi threw it at the man, killing him.
Kakashi snatched Anko, and began running the other way.
"What about the other enemies?", Anko called to her rescuer.
"There is no time, we would be defeated. Besides, my chakra is running low.", Kakashi answered between breaths. The two burst into the open, returning to the safety of their border.
"I have to go tell Konoh that the mission was a success, but I want you to come with me.", Anko soothed Kakashi, and pulled her water thermos from her small backpack.
"Drink some, you need it.", Anko urged, willing that Kakashi doesn't protest.
Kakashi didn't argue. He accepted the water and gulped it down.
"Thank you, Anko. You saved me.", Kakashi stuttered in exhaustation.
"You saved me, too.", Anko reminded him, a teasing note in her voice. She smiled as Kakashi dragged his gaze to her.
"I guess we do make a pretty good team.", Kakashi blinked, and smiled. Anko realized that he had recovered quickly.
The two lay behind a tree, talking together until sunset broke from it's sleep.
Anko rose to her feet, and smiled, as she began to walk away.
"When you go to Tsunade, tomorrow, tell her that you completed the mission.", Anko called out.
Kakashi didn't have time to argue as Anko walked away. Soon enough, the hill swallowed her.
