Itachi is quite humble. He talks politely with just about everyone. He was also quite surprised how much Sasuke had grown. Hogoromo's praise was quite metaphorical, given that beating Kaguya was hardly a strategy, when the thing pulling her strings was stabbed hundred feet below them on the ground. Without BZ, Kaguya is nothing. I can imagine her having a spat out chewing gum stuck in her head instead of a brain. I have never come across a more dumb villain.

But that aside, someone like Orochimaru has praised Sasuke for his intellect. This guy is the smartest individual in the entire manga. Madara is also quite smart and had spent his life fighting many opponents, yet he was very impressed with Sasuke.

Here is where you are slightly mistaken, Kakashi almost always has had people at his disposal for strategies. More people means more resources for creating diversions. Sasuke and Itachi have had limited resources, as they usually form strategies concerning themselves, especially Sasuke. So who would be smarter? Someone who ahs less people backing him up or no ninjas, or someone who has more options?

Then we have the Forest of Death incident when Sasuke - he was only 12 then - fooled Orochimaru and lured him into a trap, when he was backed by no one. I am not saying Kakashi is a fool, as that would be rubbish. I am just saying Sasuke is better. People on NB just like to hammer down Sasuke for no reason and praise Kakashi to high heaven. Sure, he deserves the praise, but saying that Sasuke is stupid by comparison is bull shit, man. I am sure even you would agree.

And Minato? I have yet to see this guy back up the so-called genius moniker thrown his way. He just seem lack-luster - by a mile - compared to Itachi, Sasuke, and Kakashi.

Sasuke is hands down is more analytical than Naruto and a better strategist.He has shown intelligence in nearly every battle he's been in throughout the story.

-Against Kakashi during the bell test he set up multiple traps with Ninja Tools to distract Kakashi long enough for him to be able to get close for Taijutsu which he then used to get Kakashi to counter his attacks which would leave an opening for him to grab a bell while Kakashi literally had his hands full.

-Against Deidara
This was one of the best battles in the story - probably the smartest one.Infact i need to reread it so i can have a better understanding of it.During the whole battle Sasuke was testing out a theory he had on how Deidara's techniques worked,and he formed counters/strategies against them,which led to his victory,like using his lightining style to deactivate the clay bombs that Deidara had planted within him.

Great use of Genjutsu and Ninjutsu for Sasuke in that battle.

Naruto has shown intelligence in battle aswell.Like against the 3rd Raikage.First was the 3 way counter with the Rasenshuriken which landed a hit on the Raikage which no one else was able to do.Then from hearing a short story from the Hachibi Naruto formed a strategy and successfully did it.

Naruto saw the scarred near the Raikage's shoulder so he figured that was his weak piont and from talking to the Hachibi he confirmed it and immediately came up with a strategy.He went into Sage Mode so he would be able to predict the Raikage's lightining fast movements and dodge at the last second,and land a hit on his weak spot so the sealing girl could seal him before he regenerated.That's one of Naruto's best moments/Some of my fav chapters - 554/555.

But overall Sasuke has shown alot more intelligence throughtout the whole story in battle.

I feel you are downplaying Naruto's feats. Who was it that came up with the strategy to save Kakashi from Zabuza? Who was it that figured out and exploited a weakness in Gaara's mini tanuki form (butt explosive tag strategy), who was it that figured out a way to trick preta path with it's own ability (Naruto transforming into a rasenshuriken and using his clones to throw him at preta path, making preta path think he is absorbing a rasenshuriken when actually he is absorbing a transformation jutsu, causing Naruto to turn back into himself and tackle him). He even almost caught Deva Path with rasenshuriken by throwing two rasenshuriken, hiding the second in the shadow of the first so that it will hit deva path in the 5 second gap after Deva dispells the first rasenshuriken with shinra tensei (unfortunately that mtf deva was too fast and avoided it). There are many others I could mention but I'll leave it there for now. Sasuke's best feats are his battle against Deidara, imo that put him ahead of Kakashi since he and Kakashi actually had the same abilities (Chidori/raikiri and sharingan) and both faced Deidara (Kakashi with help even) but Kakashi failed to see through Deidara's abilities (the earth style nature of the bombs and lightning style weakness) and resorted to almost killing himself with kamui.

]. Sasuke outsmarted Deidara quite heavily, who is extremely intelligent himself. He used his sword to defuse a bomb, confirmed the clay was Doton with Chidori Senbon, noticed the C4 Radius in terms of Deidara's position and got out, used genjutsu on Deidara, and passed an electric current through his own body. Sasuke outplayed Orochimaru as a teen. Sasuke outsmarted and outplayed Danzo in their fight on numerous occasions, examples being his genjutsu and using Baku's suction for his own advantage. What has Naruto done? Bunshin feint Kakuzu? Not an intelligence feat. Fight Pain with intel? Not an intelligence feat bar the Bunshin transformation towards the end. Fight the 3rd Raikage with intel? Not much of an intelligence feat. The only half-decent thing he has done in this entire war-arc is realise Gamakichi's Senjutsu enhanced attack worked on Juubito, and use his own. Apart from that, there's legitimately nothing impressive whatsoever. Sasuke is years above Naruto by feats, portrayal and hype.

I'm not downplayinf Naruto.It's just that Sasuke has shown more,and better strategies than Naruto.As i have been explaining this whole thread.

In 3 different battles,Sasuke faced powerful opponents who were using power(s)/techniques he had never seen before and he figured them out and successfully countered them in battle while fighting them - Deidara,Danzo and Madara - C2,Izanagi,and Limbo - all this while adapting to new powers - Orochimaru's power from absorbing him,MS,and the Sharingan + Rinnegan eye.

We can maybe even count against Itachi aswell.Sasuke escaped the Amaterasu which he had never seen before,and during that battle he had a strategy which manipulated the whether itself Naruto hasn't been on par with Sasuke,much less surpasses him.
