Shippuden because of plot. Naruto pt 1 because of the ninja expect and not completely OP fight scenes.

Naruto.
Way better plot, character development, fights, and nobody was spamming sharingan or senju DNA.
It was just more fun. There was still stuff to learn about the narutoverse and kishi wasn't shoving a flashback down our throats every ten chapters. Plus the characters were still ninja, thinking tactical and whatnot. They weren't using OP jutsu to solve all their problems.

They're just the same story to me. Original series has nicer leveling and the world is more interesting but all of my favourite characters come from Shippuden (Sai, Deidara, Hanzo, Kabutomaru) so it's just the same story to me.

Naruto Manga >>> Naruto Shippuden.
But Naruto Manga === Naruto Part I animate.
Naruto Part I Animate was original done by Kishi himself.

But Naruto Shippuden was not done by Kishi.
It was said that Naruto Shippuden aka Part II was done by Other, but had to get Kishi approval, so that it cannot be confuse us, the fan.

But animate is easy to watch, where manga picture and Words quite misleading.

Note: Most series have to follow the creator's ideas.
Just like Star Trek, where the creator had passed away decade ago, but concept remain.

I go with Shippuden, part 1 seemed a little boring specially with Team 7 scenes, when Sakura cries, Sasuke doesn't giva a fcuk and Naruto rages, lol while Kakashi is reading porn.
