A grin had taken for upon his young tanned face as he ran. Looking behind him over his shoulder as he continued to speedily sprint along the grey stone corridors, his grin stretched just a tad when he caught sight of his marine pursuers huffing and puffing as they tried to keep up with him
"Stop!"
"Surrender!"
"Traitor! Give up and bow your head in the face of absolute justice!"
The white and navy clad marines bellowed angrily at him from behind as he continued to steadily pull ahead of them.
'I best get rid of these fools here and now before one of the bigger fishes come.' He thought to himself. Swiftly, he turned on his heel to face his marine pursuers and lashed out with one leg.
"Rankyaku! (Storm Leg!)" He uttered lowly. His youthful voice, nary a whisper.
From his leg, an orange scythe of energy flew. The arced blade of orange energy encompassed the entire width of the corridor, slicing through the walls like a hot knife through butter as it flew through the air towards his marine pursuers.
Turning back, he didn't even bother to watch. He merely listened to the muffled cries of pain and death rattles that were uttered by the marine's as the blade of orange energy sliced into and bissected each and everyone of them in a shower of gore that painted the walls of the corridor a deep crimson red with blood.
Taking his chance, he kicked off the ground rapidly and dissappeared in a blur of speed towards his destination.
"Soru (Shave)."
It took mere minutes for him to arrive at his destination. A Black cloak covering his entire frame, hiding it from view.
He didn't even bother to slow down s he came upon his intended place. He lashed out with his leg once more and sent yet another arcing blade of orange energy soaring through the air.
"Rankayaku! (Storm Leg!)"
The large ornate wooden door never stood a chance, and was cleanly severed in half. Falling apart and leaving the door frame wide open, just in time for him to blitz through it in a blur of speed.
Inside the large well decorated interior of the room, a large broadchested man wearing a grey buisness suit with a white marine vice-admiral coat leaped over his shining polished ornate desk and just managed to avoid the blade of dissecting orange energy.
"Uzumaki..." The man growled out lowly, taking a wary step backwards. "There is only one marine in the history of the marines that uses an orange colored Rankayaku (Storm Leg), Uzumaki D. Naruto." He continued, his low rough voice tinged with anger at the apparent betrayal.
His attacker, merely grabbed the hood of his flowing black cloak and swiftly ripped it from the confines of his body, allowing his true appearance to be shown. He was a young teen, no more than 14 at the most with spiky blond hair and tanned skin. His attire consisted of black boots, blue navy pants and a white marine designated shirt. The most stand out things about him though, were his bright sapphire eyes that shone with a glacial glare and the set of three whisker-like marks that adorned each of his cheeks.
"...So it was you after all Uzumaki." The grey suit wearing man grunted, "Tell me, why would a rising star and prodigy in the Rokushiki (Six Styles) such as yourself feel the need to betray we of the Marines and absolute justice?" He continued to question.
The blonde allowed a grin to form on his face, "I'm here for that." He replied, pointing towards an open chest sitting upon the desk which was opened wide enough to reveal the contents of the chest. A large apple like fruit with blackish-grey skin and littered with many circular markings. "And," He continued, "How could I betray the Marines when I was never loyal to them in the first place? Eh, Vice Admiral Onigumo?" Naruto questioned in return, his voice mocking.
The now named Onigumo looked sharply at the chest on his desk, before returning his attention towards his assailant. "Why would you want the Akuma no Mi (Devils Fruit) that is to be delivered to Dr. Vegapunk?" The Marine Vice Admiral asked quickly, "And what do you mean you were never loyal to begin with?" He pressed further.
Naruto merely grinned wider. Although, his glacial cold sapphire eyes dampened the effects somewhat, "I only ever joined the Marines to gain the strength I needed to oppose them, and take my revenge on my parents murderer Admiral Akainu..." He trailed off, almost wistfully. He pressed on further though, just when Onigumo opened his mouth to rebuke him, "And that fruit along with my talents in the Rokushiki (Six Styles) are all I need to complete my ambition."
Onigumo growled angrily, finally seeing the full picture. It was hard for him to understand just why the golden boy of the Marines, and rising prodigy would betray them. The boy was after all slotted to be fast tracked to a Vice-Admiral's position after he had completed his training in Haki (Ambition).
Thank the stars for small miracles as it seemed the boy couldn't wait any longer to implement his plant, or else he may have lost all chances at the Akuma no Mi currently residing on his desk.
Not wasting anymore time, Onigumo sprang into action. From behind his head, six black and hairy spindly spider legs erupted from his hair and shot forward towards Naruto.
Naruto though, only looked bored. Beffore the spider legs had even reached half of the distance towards him, he disappeared in a blur of speed re-appearing behind Vice-admiral Onigumo.
Lashing out with an overhead extended axe kick, Naruto intended to snap the mans neck. He was just a moment to slow though as Onigumo tensed and took the kick to the back of his head with nary a grunt of pain, although his body was still sent sliding across to the other side of the room.
Naruto chuckled, taking his hands from their position in his pockets and allowing them to drop by his side. "That was so,e good reaction speed Onigumo, I didn't think you'd be able to prepare a Tekkai (Iron Mass) that quickly, and strong enough to counter a kill strike." The blond said conversationally.
Onigumo turned round to face Naruto, absentmindedly rubbing at the back of his neck. "That really was a strike meant to kill me, you're really serious about this." He stated, glaring full force at Naruto.
Naruto though, once again merely chuckled. "I'm thankful for all your help in my training Vice-Admiral, and for that I'll give you a pass this time, and allow you live this encounter." He replied, his voice amused once more.
"Do not underestimate me you brat!" Onigumo growled back at him, "You're a prodigy alright, but you have yet to gain the experience needed in real combat to use such talent to the highest degree!"
Naruto turned to him, his grin still present. "That's true sensei..." His ever-present grin widened upon Onigumo flinching back at the affectionate name. But he was his sensei after all, Onigumo was the one that taught him how to fight with the Rokushiki after he was stationed at the Marine Base he oversaw when not attending the Buster Call, after the young teen had graduated from the Marine Academy at an astounding age of 12. "But, your fighting style involves you needing a wide open space aswell as your sabers to work in tandem with your Zoan-type Devil Fruit abilities." The answer was near enough teasing.
Onigumo knew why though as he looked over the entirety of his office. It was large for a room, but it was full of objects such as desks, drawers other such furniture so there was no room for him to manouver about properly. And...looking over behind Naruto, he had to old in an undignified sigh of derision.
His eight sabers all hung proudly on the wall behind his desk. Fat load of good they did him now sitting there.
"So..." Naruto beganm drawing him from his thoughts and causing Onigumo to snap his attention towards Naruto. The blonde boy leasurely walked the remaining distance towards the desk and closed the chest over, before lifting it and tucking it under one arm. "You can either allow me to leave, and report what you've learned to Marineford, or attack me and die in here and allow me to go unimpeded, the choice is yours..." The sapphire eyed teen finished, tilting his head curiously in the Vice-admiral's direction.
Onigumo held a silent war within himself at his two choices. On One hand, he could allow Naruto to leave and then be able to supply his higher ups with the needed information on Naruto. Or he could attack him and more than likely lose in the confined space of his office.
It wasn't just mere boasting when it was stated that Naruto was a prodigy in the Rokushiki. Infact, the teen was so skilled in their uses the he even made some of the CP9 look like amateurs, and everyone of them were masters of varied skill in the Six Styles.
The fact of the matter though, was that Naruto's Tekkai (Iron Mass) was sturdier than Onigumo's, his Soru (Shave) was faster and his Rankyaku (Storm Leg) was much more powerful than his own.
Afterall, the teen was so far into his studies on the Rokushiki he'd already begun experimenting on making them more powerful. A testament to his very own orange colored Rankyaku (Storm Leg), which was quite a bit more powerful than the ordinary light blue colored variety of the technique.
Finally, Onigumo made up his mind and turned his back on Naruto. "Fine brat." He grit out, almost affectionately. He was still the only student and part-time apprentice he'd ever taken on after all, it was hard to hate a child who'd listened to you and absorbed your teachings like a sponge, especially when they were pleasant company and were not completely freaked out by his Akuma no Mi abilities. "I saw nothing of you escaping." The Vice-admiral and now former teacher lied through gritted teeth.
"Thanks, Sensei..." He heard the teen behind him whisper, before the room fell silent.
Turning around, Onigumo sighed when he saw that the chest containing the Akuma no Mi on his desk was gone, along with his one time pupil. The only evidence left behind, his window open and the yellow curtains framing it blowing in the wind coming through said open window.
...He respected Sengoku, Garp and the Admirals above all else. But god-damn Admiral Akainu and his trigger happy tendencies, because of him his semi-apprentice was now basically declaring war on the Marines and no doubt was out for Akainu's head on a platter.
He could only pray that he and Naruto's paths never crossed again. For if they did, one of them was going to end up dead.
Hidden away in the deep confines of a Marine Ship traversing the Grand Line, Uzumaki D. Naruto aged 14 grinned merrily as he held his prize up to eye level.
"Finally, the Mijin Mijin no Mi (Atom Atom Fruit) and my very own Devil Fruit." The blond haired teen whispered, almost reverently.
This oddly colored blackish-grey fruit was the key to achieving his life's ambition and killing Admiral Akainu for murdering his parents.
Absolute Justice? What a bunch of piss. His mother was killed in the crossfire during the battle between his father and Akainu, and for what? Because one of those filfthy Tenryubito was awe'd by his mothers extreme beauty and wanted her as some kind of *** slave?
Naruto gnashed his teeth angrily just thinking about it. His mother killed in the crossfire of the battle, and then his father cut down like some measly dog when Akainu managed to overpower him.
But, with this fruit. He could obtain his life long ambition. To kill Admiral Akainu and every single Tenryubito in existence.
He had to keep his second objective hidden from his old sensei though. The man would have definitely reported it to Sengoku and even the Admiral's would be sent for his head if it was found out he was out to kill their 'precious' Tenryubito.
He was nowhere near ready to face an Admiral. Infact, he could barely match a Vice-admiral like Onigumo and just one of the three Admiral's could slaughter an army of Vice-admiral's.
Not to mention, he hadn't even started to train in the use of Haki (Ambition) yet. And without it, Logia type Akuma no Mi users like Akainu, Kizaru and Aokiji would completely destroy him without effort. That's not to mention just how much more powerful they were in combat with him being able to hit them anyway.
"The first step towards my dream, is eating this fruit." Naruto said to himself. That said, he promptly chowed down on the blackish-grey apple like fruit, swallowing quickly as he could and barely managing on will power alone to hold the contents of his stomach down once he got a moutful of the foul taste of the fruit.
A few moments later of coughing and spluttering. Naruto quirked an eyebrow, "Now what...?" He questioned.
...He just realized he had no idea how to go about using the powers of an Akuma no Mi.
"God-damnit!" The blond ex-marine cursed angrily.
….And that was how his journey began.
"Stop!"
"Surrender!"
"Traitor! Give up and bow your head in the face of absolute justice!"
The white and navy clad marines bellowed angrily at him from behind as he continued to steadily pull ahead of them.
