Chapter 3: Haru prepares to go meet his cousin and new teammate, Yuri! What experiences await him?!
Outside the Apartment
Naruto: Okay! I'm on my way out of here, so that leaves you to go meet up with Yuri.
Haru: Gotcha'! When will you be back from your mission?
Naruto: Oh, it shouldn't take that long. Give me three or four days and I'll be back before you know it!
Haru: [Smiles shyly] Alright.... be safe dad. [Pats him on the bare arm]
Naruto: [Smiles] [Bends down] [Ruffles Haru's hair] You betcha'! Now get going! Don't keep a girl waiting too long!
Haru: [Begins running off] Okay, see you when you get back! [Waving]
Naruto: Yeah, sure! [Watches his son leave] [Grimaces ominously]
SFX: Figures landing around him
Shikamaru: When do we move out? [Lighting a cigarette] I wanna do this before dawn hits.
Sai: Shikamaru's right. It will have to be soon, Naruto.
Kiba: These Yakuza guys . . . they mean trouble! Latest reports are detailing child executions. A bunch of nut jobs are what they are.
Naruto: [Hands in his pocket] [Still staring after son] Yeah, I know. Let's move.
SFX: They all disappear
Haru: [Walking down a street] I wonder why those other guys were there.... they thought I couldn't sense them, but their chakra was very strong; difficult to not notice it, especially the one with the animal smell. Kiba is his name, isn't it? I don't know what's going on, but it's a situation I'll monitor closely.
???: Young man! Excuse me, young man!
Haru: [Surprised] [Turns around]
Old Woman: Please, you wear a ninja headband. I need your help!
Haru: [Shocked] [Understanding] Yeah! What's going on?!
Old Woman: Some rowdy boys stole my wallet! They must've taken it when my back was turned! [Points] They went that way! Please, that money is my paycheck! I can't pay my bills without it!
Haru: [Smiles] No problem ma'am! I'll get right on it! Can you tell me what they look like?
Old Woman: There were three of 'em; little kids if ya' ask me! They won't be hard to miss!
Haru: Alright! [Jumps away] [Lands on another street] Okay, she said three of them... and they should be little kids... that means their chakra will be relatively low and since it's a thievery, they'll be running opposite of her direction. I shouldn't use my Byakugan for this... give myself some practice sensing... [Taps finger on the ground while kneeling and closing eyes]
Haru(contd): Got 'em! Approximately four miles away.... Shunshin no Jutsu!!! [Disappears] [Reappears in front of kids]
???: Woah! What the hell?! [Jet black hair]
???: Who's this bozo?! [Girl with purple pigtails]
???: Did he pop up out of nowhere?! [Thick rimmed glasses]
Haru: [Staring at kid in center] Are you the ring leader of this little posse?
Kari: [Jet black hair] And if I am?! What's it to you, chump?!
Haru: C-chump?! Errr, arrogant little brat --- look, I have no time to get into argument with you! All I need is the wallet you stole from the Old Woman!
Fuka: [Pigtails] We didn't steal no wallet! So don't go accusing us of illegal crimes like that!
Haru: You didn't steal a wallet you say? Okay, just let me check, then.
Shu: [Glasses] You're not the police, so we don't have to do anything you say!
Kari: [Turning to smile at Shu] You were always the smart one, luckily we have you here to back us up! Yeah, what Shu said! We won't let you frisk us!
Haru: Oh, I don't have to. Byakugan!! [See's the wallet on Kari] [Points at him] Your back left pocket! Hand it over now!
Shu, Fuka, Kari: Eh?! How'd he know that?!
Haru: Enough chitchat! [Grabs Shu's shoulder] Give it here!
Shu: Umm, err, guys --- take care of 'em! [Throws smoke bomb down] [Escapes]
Haru: Huh? They even got gadgets on them? [See's a body approaching him]
Fuka tears through the smoke with a flying kick. Haru dodges underneath it and presses his index finger against the back of her thigh. She cries out and goes limp in the air, clutching at her leg as she falls to the ground. Next is Shu who comes out of the screen fist whirling with a assortment of attacks. Haru easily discerns the frenzied movements and catches both of his fist in each of his hands. Haru, lightning fast, reaches behind the back of Shu's ear and presses on the skin there. Shu falls to the ground.
Haru: It hit pressure points on both of you. All that's left is that other kid.
Fuka: [Laughing] You'll never catch him! We've been taking lessons at Lee-dono's dojo! Kari has been awesome in movement, easily reaching the top in terms of speed in our class.
Haru: Ohhh, is that so?
Fuka: Yeah! So you might as well give up trying to locate him! He's probably half way across town by now!
Haru: That's no problem. All though I won't be able to use my sensing if he's going at the rate of speed you say, it'll be pointless putting up a grid. I'll have to resort to that, I see.
Shu: T-that?!!
Haru: Hmm? Yeah, this. [Disappears]
In the sewers....
Kari: Sorry guys! But you took one for the team. With this, I'll be able to pay for the game for all the other orphanage children! [Runs into something] [Flies backward] [Holds nose as he hits the ground] Ow! What the heck?!
Haru: [In front of him] Kari, was it? How you doing there, buddy?!
Kari: B-but how!? You shouldn't have been able to catch up to me by now.
Haru: [Annoyed face] Well, seeing as you haven't made it past the Suburbs yet, I probably could've had caught you on foot using Shunshin, but still, you're here before me which means that you must hand over the wallet!
Kari: Tch! Alright, alright! Hear me out! The only reason we took that women's wallet was because we wanted to do something nice for the other orphanage children!
Haru: Huh? They're orphanage children?
Kari: There's a Rocket Ball game coming up that all the other kids wanna see! You know, the Mizugakure Fins against the Konoha Whirlwinds!
Haru: So... you stole the money... because you wanted to treat the other orphans?
Kari: Yeah, yeah that's right! So please mister, just let me go! I promise to return the money back to the old women! [Bows] Please!!!
Haru: [Silent] Sorry, I can't allow you to steal, even if it's for a good cause. Hand over the wallet!
Kari: [Shocked] This bastard! [Charges Haru]
Haru: [Trips Kari]
Kari: [Scrambling up] It doesn't matter now, you fool!
Haru: What do you mean?
Kari: Heh, during the smokescreen I threw up! I gave the wallet to Shu! He has it now! And I've wasted time by telling you our story so they could get away! You'll never find them now!
Haru: [Quiet] [Grabs Kari by the shirt]
Kari: [Scared] So you're gonna beat a ten year old up? And you're suppose to be a ninja with that headband?!
Haru: [Smirks] I'm not gonna beat you up. I'll leave that for your teacher, Kabuto!
Kari: Huh?! He knows Kabuto sensei?!!!
Haru: And as for your little plan, I must say that you were a step ahead of me.... except....
Haru and Kari teleport immediately in front of Shu and Fuka who are in a tree house.
Haru: I was one step ahead of you as well!
Kari: B-but how did you get here so fast?!!!
Haru: Heh, when I first grabbed your shoulder. I placed a mark on it.
Kari: Huh?! [Looks at shoulder] [Sees mark]
Haru: That's how I got to you so fast! And also, you Shu!!
Shu: [Falls down scared]
Haru: I placed a mark on you when I grabbed your fist!
Shu: [Looks at knuckles] [Sees Mark]
Haru: And now [Grabs all three of them] is time for justice. [Teleports again]
Fuka: W-we're home!
Kari: [In awe of Haru] W-who are you??
Haru: Heh, my name is Uzumaki Haruto! And this is the Hirashin no Jutsu!!!
Haru manages to retrieve the wallet using his excellent Shinobi skills. Next up; a visit with the orphanage runner; Kabuto Yakushi!!!
