Here's my thoughts on Naruto's new bijuu mode and how it will compare to Ashura's.
This is really long so bare with me
Okay, to get the ten tails you must seal all tailed beasts inside the gedo mazou, which will grant you the power of all the chakra/nature types. This gives you the black chakra aka moldable bijuu bombs. But since naruto has the chakra of all tailed beast inside him separate, he has the power of all of them so they can work together. Although they are separate, Naruto can also use the black chakra. He also had a change in his chakra cloak. Naruto also gained the senjutsu of the six paths, so basically he has the same power of ashura now, and sasuke has the same power of indra. well think about this, ashura wouldn't be able to form those chakra balls if he only had kurama right?
the only reason sage of six paths could was cause he was the first jinchuriki of the ten tails and he invented senjutsu. This leads me to believe that maybe ashura had all of the bijuu sealed in him seperate. Cause after the sage seperated the bijuu and sealed the body of the ten tails in the moon, he told ashura he would be the leader of ninshuu. if you don't believe me re read naruto 670 and pay close attention. Thats the order of events. ask any youtube reviewer. He made ashura leader of ninshuu because ahura believed in working together and unity. Well the ten tails doesn't have physical emotions. that has been said many times. The only reason the tailed beasts have emotions and personalities is because the sage of six paths used creation of all things and made them unique from eachother. An obvious move by the sage who believed in unity and individualism. So maybe the sage sealed all of the tailed beasts separate inside ashura because if he was going to be the leader of ninshuu, he would need tthe help of the tailed beasts. Especially more cause a jinchuriki can focus the power of the tailed beasts. Remember how everybody could feel what was inside naruto's heart that time? that is one important aspect of ninshuu. to fully understand one another and to be able to share thoughts telepathically. So I believe ashura was the jinchuriki of all the tailed beasts, not the ten tails. I think in the coming chapters we may see a bijuu mode of naruto's much similar to ashura's (several arms and heads like you said and whatnot).
Naruto can pick and choose between which form he wants to take, but he will more than likely use the nine tails since that is his main bijuu.
