I mean doesnt he have a spirt from the other buujis that have all elements? I feel like water would be ideal since it could beat fire. plus it was mention that jounin's have two or more elements. the kages besides tsunade who is a medical speacilty have more than one as well. well the 2nd have only water but he had the flying thunder god tech, edo tensi and a thunder weapon.

I think he DOES have water nature. He trained with Gamakichi and Gamakiri in order to be able to use a combination attack with them. I think he just hasn't been formally trained to further develop his water nature.

i think the summoning colibration jutsu only works with two elements that are different. gamacki has water and he had wind so it worked out when he used it to take down gwen jutsu
