[Discussion] Naruto must die

It's a hunch.

The plot needs the hero to die in order to achieve a greater state. Last chapters revealed how he was stuck, he barely could fight against Ten Tails Jinchuuriki "Obito" with the help of Shinobi Alliance, Kages, Deceased Kages, Taka, Orochimaru and Sasuke.

Chapter 661 also tells us something that is explicit: Sasuke got a powerup. We don't know what could this imply, but surely this powerup will help Sasuke in binding Madara, and then again... we could even see a Naruto/Sasuke combo against Madara (just how Obito was defeated).

Both characters (Naruto and Sasuke) are 'apparently' in the verge of death, but the child of prophecy already did his role against the young man of powerful eyes (Obito), so we could imply that the one (the main star) to defeat Uchiha Madara is Sasuke.

If you try to bind these factors, there has to be something troubles you... Why would Naruto be in the verge of death, if the one to defeat Madara (plot-wisely talking) is Sasuke? Naruto in the verge of death (as common sense) means a powerup for Naruto, so...

This lends me to think that there is one more enemy ahead, someone else than Madara. And this someone is not the Ten Tails... (that already aknowledges Naruto), it has to be:

- Sasuke (The aclaimed Naruto vs Sasuke fight)

Or

- Orochimaru (The unfinished business with the sneaky snake)

Do you think there could be another final villain taking Madara aside?

We already know he has plans for Sauce to become Hokage...but Naruto should at least be a Hero and die or something.

I don't think Naruto and Sasuke would be possible to live under the same roof again.

Nah, Sasuke should die a hero, it'll make up for his crimes. He'd be left as a hero just as Itachi wanted. Naruto won't die.

If Naruto dies a tragic death the point is lost. The point is for a character to have nothing but with sheer work and determination and can achieve his dream. If Naruto were to die then the show would be lost and make half of it be irrelevant.

I believe that Sauce will end up blind (Izunagi or Izunami), defeat Madera(with the help from Naruto),and then Sasuke will take his eyes. Then, Orochimaru will take over a weakened Sasuke and the final battle will be super OP Sasukimaru (Patient pending) Vs. Naruto. Then Naruto will somehow become the Sage of Six Paths himself and kill Sasumiaru! ^.^ ... This of course is my own fantasy of how it would play out!

The battle of Naruto and his comrades is in it’s final phase, in the truest sense of the term. About the Ten Tails, about Madara, and then, about Sasuke…I will continue to raise the tension without restraint, in every way I can! Please follow this story of a boy named Naruto a little while longer, I will greatly appreciate it.

The Juubi isn't done for. I'm of the belief that the Juubi will be the final villain; Naruto vs. Sasuke will follow (possibly after a short time skip).

Indeed. Everything is pointing towards that way... Juubi will be a threat of course, but ahead of that, Orochimaru and more importantly, Sasuke is waiting to be defeated.

I'm sure Sasuke and Naruto will fight in the end, but not solely for the purpose of getting the seat of Hokage, but for determining the future of the entire village (and maybe the entire shinobi system).

So... maybe hero and anti-hero will need to die in order to unlock the next powerup.

Anyways... at the verge of death, some interesting things appears.

OT, if naruto dies, then he'll probably get revived. kishi isnt the type of person to kill off a main character.

I agree with a final villian of sorts, but i feel like Oro is gonna play a role in that. Maybe not, but he could take over Sasuke's body at one point or another coming up. But theres also just the Jyubi tree not being finished. I am wondering if the end of the manga is actually going to show Jiraiya finishing his book, or reading his book to a little Naruto. Just a random thought i had.

The main problem we see right now are some facts:

Naruto's power is irrelevant now that he lost Kurama. He already reached his limits in BSM, he wasn't a fully match against Ten Tails Jinchuuriki Obito.

He could if he was going to give him a powerup. Revival included.

I don't think sasuke will ever die in the anime, seeing as he has Itachis eyes i mean why kill of Itachi and give sasuke his eyes and this last dramatic farewell goodbye to Sasuke for Sasuke just to die later on after Itachi protecting him, would make Itachi's sacrifice pointless. Plus Sasuke is a main character not saying he is immune to death because we don't known that 100% but im at least 90% sure that Sasuke wont die neither will Naruto.
