In the finale of the awesome Rock Lee spin-off- The Akatsuki and Sasuke attack the Leaf Village, whilst it's still somewhat a comedy show the action here is totally played seriously and has better animation than the majority of Shippuden fights. Watch for some amazing taijutsu.

Alternative openings for Naruto arcs whilst entirely fan-made are just as epic and sometimes it's even hard to tell you're not watching the real deal. Worth your time.

I hoped I wasn't the only one who noticed the change in style during the Lee vs. Sasuke fight. However you can't compare the 2 series since Shippuden is better done imo.

Well the animation is done for different purposes. SD actually has a much better animation imo, at the very least it's consistent and mimicked the real anime for the sake of a joke, Shippuden for it's genre and what is required of it doesn't do a very good job most of the time really.

Yes but chibi characters are easier to animate since they are much simpler. Also the show had a lot less episodes.

Oh i'm sure but consistency of any kind is better than none. The show is always able to look clean and iconic.
