Say what you like, but I have to agree with topic creator.
Its not so much there's too much romance, but they put it in the middle of an awesome fight.
I don't care if there's a bit of romance as long as it doesn't interfere with the action scenes.
This ^ +1.
The romance in Naruto is not abundant, true. Its subtle but way too integral. All that Naruto (the anime not character) is: wars, ninjas, tailed beasts, politics, missions, ninja codes, villains, conspiracy etc. And it all comes down to the villain, Obito, doing what he is doing because he lost the love of his life. Naruto, the hero, on the other hand, summonsed the strength thanks to his love interest.
Not to mention that even thought part of his quest to find sasuke is because he seems him as a brother, he is still persuing sasuke to keep his promise to the girl that he, Naruto, has (or had after 615) a crush on.
Again, its fair to say that the romance isnt abundant in the anime, but still it plays too much of a driving role in the plot. If the OP feels a bit peeved by it, then she has the right to.
Lastly, as the person I quoted said, why bring that stuff in at the middle of an epic fight? that speech could have easily been delivered by kakashi, or the other guy who first acknowledged naruto.
