Dave Chappelle's post was the only one I paid attention to, since he elaborated quite nicely. And after that explanation, I see what the OP means.
As for others, OP's just stating his opinion... though in the wrong manner :|
Now, I'd like to give my opinion on this war, also adding to Dave's post. I've expressed it before so I'll just copy it from my previous post in another thread.
-------------------------------------------------
I feel like there's a lot of out-of-the-blue throw-ins by Kishi in this war. Take a look:
- Kinkaku and Ginkaku: Have never been mentioned before (except for the Kinkaku Force but even that's debatable). They appear out of nowhere, not even seen when Kabuto introduces who he resurrects. No history. No mention. No hint at all. But apparently, they're the most reviled criminals in the history of Kumo, said to possess weapons of the Sage. And speaking of that...
- Sage's Weapons: These "most-impressive" weapons came out of nowhere, too. They are meant to emphasize the Sage's power but instead, Kishi emphasizes Kin/Gin's powers :shrug: Why not just label them as "Kin/Gin's legendary weapons" then? What's the point of connecting them to the Sage? And when their battle is over, these weapons are never spoken of again :/ So much for Legendary Weapons then.
- Shisui's death: Okay, I don't mind him having the most powerful Genjutsu technique, because there were dozens of hints and lead-ons, starting from the Kage Summit arc. But his death is plain confusing and contradictory. There are three possibilities: suicide (as found by the Police Force), Itachi killed him (like he said), or he died peacefully to hide his existence (...like Itachi said again :|).
- Mangekyo Sharingan: Initially, we believed you would have to kill your best friend to gain MS. Then we found out you can gain it through losing a loved one. But now that Itachi denies killing Shisui, how the hell did he gain it?! :| And how did Shisui gain it then? It's so confusing. Kishi adds these little changes but by the time the end result is reached, it's significantly different from the starting.
- Kabuto's SM: This is like the biggest last-minute throw-in by Kishi. Out of nowhere! "I went to a cave, trained with a big-ass snake and gained Sage Mode." It's completely mind-boggling. I won't elaborate too much on this (I think I've said enough xd).
There's a lot of other stuff, too. Like the history surrounding Hanzo. Hashirama's random "OP-ness". Not too mention all that crap surrounding Madara, Tobi and Nagato :|
All in all, this war's fine concerning violence and action, but a lot of it doesn't make sense. And the tiny holes eventually lead to a big one. I just hope Kishi has explanations for it later.
My 2cents.
@war:
i thought that it was horrible from the beginning.
edo is a way to give informations about dead characters, and an easy way to get some old characters some screentime again, so i absolutely understand the reasons for this war and the edos.
sadly kishi didnt want to kill a single one of his characters, therefore the superior edos are restricted most of the time to taijutsu or c-ranked jutsus, which is the reason for the fights being boring.
apart from that it doesnt suit kishi's writing style, which is why his war only consists of team-battles and doesnt have the unpredictability and gore that is necessary to describe a war in a realistic manga. read e.g. ares or shin angyo onshi for better examples.
in the end, there are ~60 000 casualties on the good side but no-one that we know, and therefore no drama. in addition there are horrible strategic decisions and no formations at all.
that's why i'm happy that the war has more or less ended, because it now makes sense that they fight in low numbers.
@ginkaku-kinkaku
out of the nowhere, their ninjutsus were non-existent, their weapons' abilities would have been even random for yu-gi-oh-cards, but for weapons it didnt make any sense at all. and the way they were beaten was horrible. if he wanted to show darui, couldnt he just have let him fight deideira?
@shisui:
where itachi got his ms from can be explained the same way sasuke's is explained. i dont think that itachi ever lied to naruto, so i'd stick with his version.
the real question is: where did shisui got his ms from, if itachi was his best friend? why didnt the uchiha hunt him down, like they tried when they thought that itachi got it? if they didnt know, why does kabuto?
@kabuto sm :
he had the time and i was to some extend always surprised that tsunade and oro didnt have one. but you're right, it was out of nowhere.
sadly sm is boring. it doesnt provide something new. oro was feared so much, and all that he ever did was regenerating and that stuff he did before the timeskip (before every character was ridiculously buffed). why give kabuto all the powers of other characters if oro could have some that made sense? kishi seems to lack ideas, cant explain it otherwise. he only has to develop some cool snake-jutsus, but he uses sage mode and suigetsus water-skin. why?
and yes, since the time skip the manga was way worse, the manga focused way to much on sasuke and naruto as a result of their separation. not getting worse and worse, but not as good as before.
