Things aren't making sense. Yes so "Naruto" is confirmed to end, and all sources say it's truly the Manga itself that is ending...
However....
Why would they announce a "New Era Project" for Naruto a month before just to later say the manga is ending.
I don't know if the new era project is solely just the new Naruto movie getting released in December, but with a name like "New Era Project" it seems to suggest that there is much more to come.
If I had to take a logical guess, and I stress, it's a just logical guess, I would say that yes, Naruto is ending, but only HIS story.
Possibly whatever comes next may still be in the Naruto Universe, but not focus centrally on Naruto himself, having a new name and ext. Maybe it's not exactly part 3, rather than it's new own standalone story within the Naruto Universe most likely with returning characters.
Just an example, Harry Potter, the book and movie series ended with the conclusion of Harry's story, however other books within the Harry Potter world still exist telling stories of other characters and is being made into a movie (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.)
Sorry, too lazy to think of other better examples lol.
But maybe Naruto is getting this same treatment in someway.

Or maybe a stretch would be that Kishi it tired of having to draw the manga so from now on he's just providing the writing/story and having it translated directly to Anime.
