Got to admire Madara's honesty and transparency. A final boss, that is actually praising Gai's power w/ a joyous face LOL! I don't know what to say now... He is either at the peak of arrogance, yet now he actually seems to genuinely enjoy getting wrecked by Gai and having a good fight.

no kishi was going for a plot twist so he hyped the fact that 8 gates meant death. Now hype subsequently used that setup to hype naruto on a cliffhanger in which Gai defies the death hype

I hear you but you can't go on changing rules (ass-pulls) as you go along.
The deaths of Jiraya and Neji where stupid and yet other are spared from direct death (Gaara, Kakashi, Obito, Bee, Gai (exclude Naruto and Sasuke since they're the main characters)).

Why create situation in the first place that will later defy the rules???

Looks like it's the Night Dragon everyone called. Midnight dragon would have sounded more badass though.

People seriously... STOP being such whiners about the flashbacks... they are part of the damn story. I don't care if you come at me and try to say: they spend pages of the manga to postpone it for next and leave us in cliffhangers and blah blah... PATIENCE. When someone tells you a story you just sit down and listen to it. Otherwise walk away and go listen to another one. Since all of u here like the story cause u r always coming back for more just wait for it to end. Jesus I mean if people have so good ideas for a story why don't you write your own and post it here so the rest of us can read it?

As for the manga it was a good chapter with very nice technique by Guy. Yes imo Guy "needs" to die because he sacrificed himself for the sake of everyone and he made sure he would go down with a Blast by giving a damn good show. It's gonna be a tricky part for Kishi cause we have already seen Naruto getting enraged by Pain's actions (Jiraya, Kakashi and ultimately Hinata's death) so right now he might be doing something like some of u think and try to give him a descent and not painfull farewell. At least he managed to make some broken ribs to god-Madara for something to remember. As people say and think, yes i believe that Naruto has life-reborn and healing effect power (like Hashirama since he was the previous incarnation) and on the other hand Sasuke might have the other part which has to do with shadow or even death power (i am not sure about that). The spots on their hands indicate something like a moon and maybe the sun which are equal to light and dark. The battle is about to begin and let's see what the cooperation between Naruto and Sasuke will be.

I thought this chapter was sorta disappointing... I mean it was sweet seeing Gai before he ''dies'' but I wanted more of Naruto and Sasuke But Gai probably is going to live which I don't understand...

Gai !!! "The strongest taijustsu ninja he's ever seen". Give him some credit. I thought it would have been
better if gai died. Not saying i wanted him to die, but for a more dramatic add on to the story. I think the important thing for kishi was revealing the 8 gates open.
Im sure since the first it ever got introduce everyone wondered the true power of the 8 gates.
Flash back was pointless.naruto saves gai before death,pretty predictable. Im more curious to see what will sasuke do, and the battle for hokage between naruto and sasuke

Great work kishi...Great work...

You build up guy's character and the fact he seemingly is going to die, you have him fight against madara and you have him doing some damage and then BAM, you ruin everything with this "Naruto arrives at the last minute and just so happens to revive guy"... It's quite funny because this morning, before reading the chapter, I kinda had a feeling that that kind of bullshit could happen and unfortunately, I ended up being right...

I'm sorry but this chapter was bad...

However, we still got to see some fighting so that saves it from being terrible and heck even the flashbacks didn't annoy me that much.

Now sure, we don't know if guy will make it even with naruto's help but considering that naruto got a freaking powerup from the sage, it's pretty much guaranteed he will make it alive...

This would've been one epic death but naruto had to ruin it, once again...

3.2/5 this week and that is being nice.

Good chapter. Don't like Naruto reviving Guy. Seems like nobody in this war is dying unless you're named Neji, but no surprise. Haven't been a fan of the war arc. There are many things I wished happened differently, but oh well.

Good chapter. Don't like Naruto reviving Guy. Seems like nobody in this war is dying unless you're named Neji, but no surprise. Haven't been a fan of the war arc. There are many things I wished happened differently, but oh well.

HQ got blew up, half of the shinobi alliance is dead, etc..there have been deaths, but not of significant characters.
