Obito is classified as a Chuunin and still is. In terms of skill, he far surpasses that. He would be what you call a Space Rocket Jounin.

It was a good chapter I saw that ending coming a mile away so I'm not upset about it. The people having problems with this chapter you just have to understand that this series is a slightly more dramatic DBZ with a over arcing plot. And what I mean by that is how many characters in DBZ died? And stayed dead?

But with Naruto at least some characters legitimately died but Naruto as series has never felt like a tragedy kind of ending to the series and nothing I've seen in this war arc has changed my opinion on that.
