If kishi has any care, guy is done being a shinobi forever. Look at what gates did to Lee. Look at how bad he just wrecked his body. Naruto saving him from dying isn't that big a deal imo, he literally is blessed by power from the Sage but if Gai is ever shown to be able to fight again I'll be mad.

Gai will die anyway. Naruto just spiked a bit of the life fore/chakra in Gai - but just barerly then pulled his arm off either accepting he can not save Gai or it is impossible to Save Gai. The only thing Naruto did is prolonging Gai's life so we will get last words of Gai to Lee and Friends just like Asuma....

Gai 7th gates can solos almost anyone in NCV naruto current verse I can think of tell me who can beat him in 7th gates gai beat kisama and kisamam beat bee so yea gai 7th gates can probably solo all bujjis with jins no juubi but 1-9
