Rin dying isn't the whole reason why he's doing these things it's about what the death of Rin represents it's not just about Kakashi failing to keep his promise to Obito either it's about the fact Kakashi had to make that promise at all.

This is so very true. Everyone just assumes that Obito's reason for doing all this was due to Rin's death...but we all know it's never as cut and dry as that where Kishi is concerned. Obviously, Madara plays a role in the bigger picture here. Something tells me Madara has been behind...Everything! from the attack on Kanohagakure 16 years ago, to the events now. It's proabably like a "Scream" theme where there were 2 killers instead of 1. I get the feeling "Tobi" was 1st Madara then Obito...maybe...If that is the case, then when did Madara die, and was it really Kabuto who ressurected him? Or was it an Edo Tensei Orochimaru did along time ago and both he and Kabuto just kept it under wraps using him to infultrate Akatuski, the Uchiha clan, and the like. i don't know. this is just a VERY WILD GUESS on my part

Why do people keep thinking that Hashirama is going to be brought back? Did we forget that he was already edo-tensei'd back during the chunnin exam attack, then had his soul sealed away by the third hokage?

He is coming back. Tobi will summon him like he just did Madara. That Madara on the field there is not the same one fighting the kages. Tobi has a reincarnation jitsu that is more powerful than edo-tensie. It brings back a replica of the person, but not the real person like edo does. Just a copy.

Who attacked Konoha 16 years ago? (Madara was dead by then)

Who found Obito & trained him? (Madara is dead even then)

Why wouldnt you edo Izuna? (I mean he would have his eyes)

I have the feeling that a conflict will evolve between Obito and Madara. Why? I believe there can only be 1 ruler of Mugen Tsykyomi world.

Okay, everyone thought Tobi was Izuna (including me) because Tobi knew so much about Madara, and when it was revealed that he couldn't be Madara, the next Assumption was Izuna.
Now it seems that Madara did indeed survive the fight between him and Hashirama, and by some chance found Obito after the fight at the Kannabi Bridge. My guess is that Madara learned Obito's story and stayed with Madara and Madara trained Obito. After learning about Rin's death, Obito was angry and Madara saw this chance of Obito being able to help him control the world. He used Rin's death to fuel Obito's hatred toward Kakashi and Konoha.
Now Obito has turned evil unfortunately and wants to control the world with Tsuku no me.

However, there is still some explaining that needs to be done from Kishimoto regarding who attacked Konoha 16 years ago.
That Masked Man was fully grown while Kakashi was still a young teen, and if Kakashi and Obito were about the same age, the Masked Man couldn't have been Obito.
But the Masked Man had the same space-time jutsu as Kakashi and Obito, and when his arm was injured it look like a white, gooey substance sort of like zetsu.
If you ask me, I don't think it could have been Madara behind the mask, because Minato beat him easily. Who knows though? Maybe he wanted to lose? All I know is, there is still a lot more behind this story.:shrug:

I'm just glad they put finality on Obito, and he used a new jutsu! I don't like that they killed him just to change their minds, but I do like that it adds a more dramatic turn than another character like Izuna lol

Well for me I stay with my theory that the guy behind the mask is not Obito.
He might be Obito's body with his eye, but not Obito.

Madara calling Tobi Obito doesn't necessarily mean he is Obito for real, it might be just like when Nagato used bodies to make Pain, at that time, when nobody knew who or what Pain was, Konan was calling him Pain or even Yahiko (about Yahiko's body).

And I think that Madara found Obito or something else found him (maybe Zetsu) and that he either found him dead or alive. If he found him dead he might have used some kind of jutsu to read back Obito's memories and know what he wanted most (ie Rin) and used that as a pretext to destabilize Kakashi and Guy, and keep his secret. If he found him alive he might have passed some time with him so he could know him and know what he wants most (ie Rin) and then killed him because Obito wouldn't get manipulated.

That let's us with the Naruto eternal question: Who is Tobi??

I also had a thought that Obito might have been under some Tsukyomi or Koto Amatsukami made by Madara who just made him believe that what he is doing (ie Obito) is justified by the stupid fact that a ninja girl dies in a ninja war, and that's why he becomes the most (or one of the most) evil and OP villains in history.

For me Tobi can't be Obito.. that's all..

If you're happy to accept this as just another chapter before the real stuff kicks in, then by all means go ahead. But it sounds as if you're not a real fan, that you're not seeing the bigger picture, and that you don't have standards.

what a major snoooz fest i cant believ it that was a total waste of time, it was a major siapointment for me i expected more fighting than this a flash back we have already seen more than once when counting the anime i has more expectations than this, i wanted to see the fight between tobi (obito) and naruto and i dont get the point of the flash backs the was really no need for them. i will give it a 0/5

Personally i disliked it and almost thought it was a fake whilst reading through it. It wasted our time with 10 pages of flashbacks we've already seen from kakashi gaiden. this is a 7 page chapter :T
