When Raikage fought the fourth during the third world war, the fourth said that the next time they would meet, they would put the title of kage on the line.
So by that he must have been Hokage either before or during the war

I've thought about this as well. I think those moments that we see "goofy" Tobi would be when whatever is left of Obito is allowed to come out and play so to speak. The rest of the time, it is whomever, or whatever is controlling him or inhabiting him that is interacting with the people and the world around Tobi's body.
I actually think Obito is perfect. He is a fallen hero. He was just like Naruto when he was younger. no real friends. people treated him like crap. yet he actually did help an old lady with her luggage.(Seriously I thought he was lieing but nope) He was a great guy with awesome dreams like Naruto has. Just when he finaly got Kakashi his rival to believe in him. He died. I will so be looking forward to seeing the mangas that explain how he turned from a fallen hero to a sinister villian. Kakashi morned Obito every day almost. Even when Sarutobi's funeral was going on he was at the memorial morning Obito. So to me having Obito Uchiha being the villian that kakashi, Guy, and Naruto have to face is perfect. It's like Naruto vs. Nega Naruto. Senju vs. Uchiha. Sharingan vs. Nine Tails. I cannot think of a better boss for them to face at this point in the manga other than an actual Sasuke/Naruto fight to the death. Seriously I'd rather see sasuke go back to Konoha, but that would probably be a horrible story.

Extremely disappointed in the possibility that Tobi is Obito. Hopefully next week things are explained.

There would be a lot of explanations on how Obito became so skilled and how he became Tobi
People reason than Obito is not a gifted shinobi like the other villains, which makes him the perfect villain. He is the mirror of the main protagonist. Someone which is considered as an underachiever but somehow rose through the ranks.

No doubt, that's what makes the reveal pretty friggin cool.... even though I was completely against it being Obito. The problem is, it just doesn't fit with the established events and timeline. I can't wait to sill the explanation.
He may be mirrored from Naruto, but that doesn't explain how he gained SO MUCH power in 13 months... MS & all. When he JUST activated a 2 tomoe Sharingan... There's too many time disruptions and inconsistencies. How Minato never knew he was fighting his student, he was a sensor ninja after all. How he grew into a full grown adult at 14.

If we think of team Minato, that's a repetition of a success formula: the clumsy (Obito), the serious (Kakashi) and the girl (Rin), with the powerfull sensei (Minato).However, this is the only team we assist to an inversion: the serious (as for Orochimaru and Sasuke) always get's to be the bad guy and the clumsy (as for Jiraya-Sama and Naruto) the good one. In this case the serious one inherited the will of the clumsy (what an antithesis!). That makes the most important thing yet to be explained still so important: even more that how did Obito trained, how he became a Nidaime-Madara, why did the bodyfied impersonification of kindness, one that helped old ladies and only thought of his partners in the moment of his "death", became such a powerfull and dreadful villain!
I agree with this 100%. Villlians like Orochimaru who is a Sanin. A Super skilled Ninja make bad villians. Way too Over Powered and way to many personal issues. Uchiha Madara again way to over powered. Way to many issues. Nice for a good long fight but seriously just a big obstacle. Way too A typical villian with battles that seem more and more like Dragon ball z.

Sure it's a huge long fight that will eventually be won. Tobi on the other time. He died tragicly, under achiever, Tons of regret and emotion surrounding the character. Then reappears, pretends to be Madara. Uses the Jinchuriki as his weapons and tries to revive the ten tails. much better villian.

while it's cool that everyone is speculating on obito/tobi theories, i'm still perplexed about how whoever he is survived a rasengan to the face...his head should have been ripped off his body...:flaw:

How would you know? There were still no explanations about that issue. Let us just wait and see how that really happened.
You are probably forgetting that we are talking about a comic. Anything may go down.
