I am not even going to even guess or mention who I think Tobi is right now. All my theories might be wrong since Tobi can be anybody at this point...
Oh and 5/5, The last page gave me goosebumps. I was like "Go Naruto!"

Well, since the theories of Tobi are coming to an end shortly I thought I'd give some insight into how I wish it went or how I would of made it if I had to write the story.
Madara was the first "Tobi" this is the name he took once leaving the village, he acquires his new found power of the rinnegan but knows this discovery would be short lived, he needs someone who understands him and is willing to carry out his will for the sake of uncovering more truth. Tobi heads to the anbu of the hidden leaf and meets danzo and gives his proposal, he speaks to danzo about how hashirama is unfit to lead the village and that power is the key to success and danzo agrees to help him.
After his death, Madara entrusted his eyes with the baby Nagato and to be watched over by danzo who posed as the new Tobi. He raised up the akatsuki and watched over them until the day he decided he'd be needing the rinnegan back in which he planned to kill them all using hanzo as a pawn. Underestimating Nagato's abilities the plan failed and he had lived on and this only breeded his hatred more and danzo took the opportunity to prolong the plan.
Danzo now follows what Madara has told him, find the uchiha boy who holds great power... who this boy is you may wonder? Obito. I'll get back to this in a minute.
Madara reveals that Izuna had space-time abilities with his magenkyou while Madara held Susanoo, amaterasu and tsukyonomi. Madara is a direct ancestor to that of Sasuke and Itachi, it is why fugaku Uchiha was chosen as the head of the police force for his strong abilities and inheritance of great power. But who descends from Izuna? Obito. He is the child Madara was reffering to. Danzo has the whole uchiha clan under close watch and watches Izuna's generations flow down to the child that is now Obito.
During the incident at Kanabi bridge, Danzo is amazed at Obito's capabilties to awaken his 2 tomoe sharingan when put under pressure and realises that he is indeed capable of what Madara has spoken about, the child who would raise to great heights. Sadly he had chosen to save Kakashi which was unexpected but never the less, danzo had made his way in when the rocks were falling and had Zetsu attach to obito and take him through the earth.
Danzo steals shisui's eye (after dealing with obito in the next paragraph) and used it to control the mizukage as "Tobi" and now kisame has joined. Everything is going as planned so far, the story line goes as usual and danzo acts through his own sense of "justice" to protect konoha.
Zetsu was the experiment of which Madara had also left danzo to utilise in raising him with the senju dna to maximise his powers. Now obito was in the care of danzo who had repaired his body using zetsu and trained him secretly over the course of 3 years. It was time... Madara had layed out every detail for danzo to follow, it was incredible how far he had thought ahead, from the Tablets the so6p had left for the uchiha he had come to know the darkest of secrets when reading them with his rinnegan. He left danzo to take control of the kyuubi and crush the leaf then rebuild it in his own way. Obito was constantly being told lies about how he was abandoned as after he became unconsious he lost part of his memory but faintly remembered Kakashi and Rin's faces and someone he held close. Danzo fearing Obito would not be mentally ready had used shisui's eye to cast a genjutsu over him and had him believe he was truely madara and had never before met minato/kakashi/rin etc. This is why during their fight he was surprised with Minato's speed, Obito had developed his s/t abilities with danzo using every ounce of information left for them. Obito had now become the next tobi for this current time during the attack on konoha 16 years prior to the start of the series. Unfortunately this had not gone as planned and danzo had notified the uchiha to stay away as a warning from Madara himself. Danzo became uneasy with the idea he'd become a suspect in this attack and decided to leave obito to his own accord. Danzo had now returned to the village where he decided that Madara's plan had failed and that the uchiha were a lost cause. He had to put the blame on someone and so he layed the blame of the attack on the uchiha which lead to the massacre and had used itachi as a pawn to destory them but disliked the fact that Sasuke had survived but tried not to pay too much attention to it and hoped he'd die eventually. Danzo now returns to the village leaving his old tobi identity behind and aims to become the next hokage.
But what happened to Obito? To be continued... (if you liked my version I'll continue my story

What i see now is:
Chapter 599 - Revealing who Tobi is, with some flashback explaining why is he doing what he is doing (whether he is obito (wich i'd prefer him not to be), izuna (which i think its the most plausible), kagami, the ramen guy, or whoever), and ending with tobi saying: "worry not, your end is near, for the ten tails is reborn now!"
Capter 600- Shows true ten tails form, and the desrtuctive power it has, but due its only incomplete form, full 8 tails + full 9 tails can match him, and be a good battle, which makes tobi flee from combat, and trying to get sasuke to kill/capture/rape the jinchuriikis

they said tobi couldnt use rinnegans unique powers cos it took alot out of him to control the bijuu with those strange binding chains
(kakashi mentioned it earlier in previous chapters)
im guessing his only power he can use with the rinnegan now is to once he touches you to get bound with those strange chains
Madara stole Hashiramas DNA awoken the rinnegan and created zetsu with 1st hokages dna i think this is why the black zetsu can use wood techniques
Madara also used some of his own DNA to make the zetsu and split the chakras of his own and Hashiramas into seperate ying and yangs, just so zetsu is stable (thats why zetsu has a black side and white side with seperate personalities
Madara explains the plan to zetsu tells him to wait until the 1st is dead and then to teach nagato and to manipulate him so he can be ressurcted by the rinnegan technique
Before madara dies he implants some of his consciousness into zetsu
Madara then dies the zetsu takes his rinnegan gives it to an uzumaki (nagato)
Zetsu eats corpses, found the dead uchiha (obito) ate him which then gives him the ability to read the corpses memories and create an exact copy (tobi)
zetsu creates a copy clone of the dead body obito and before he makes the clone he splits madaras conscious out into the new clone of obito creating tobi
but the new madara is not happy with this vessel and tries to get his own body back
this may explain why tobi cant use susanoo and why kabuto didnt want to absorb him instead of sasuke as he knew he wasnt really an uchiha

but i still think tobi is not obito...
because when nine tails attack on village tobi was a man of almost 25 (calculated by assumption of his figure) but remember the episode when kurenai want to take part in battle against nine tail ... in that episode look at kakashi he is a boy of almost 16 years if tobi is obito then he is at same age as kakashi sensei
so thats why i am saying this he is not obito for god sake

Nice..thinking about it..anybody ever see tobi disengage the sharingan like other Uchihas..?
