There are a lot of things that aren't fully "confirmed" in naruto. For example, we thought tobi was confirmed to be Madara at first but it turned out to be false. At this point, Kishi can pull out any plot twist he wants and then create a random excuse to justify it.
I don't support the obito theory because of the amount of "grey" points to it, its a basic theory which lacks complex insight. Similar names, abilities and eyes are there to probably fool the majority of fans.
I don't support "one" theory but see tobi as a mixture of possible things. Currently I am positive that tobi has experimented the use of zetsu through his own body, as seen through his arm "melting" like a white zetsu would in two instances. One against danzou's henchmen and the second being against minato. Next, I believe tobi must have a link with madara's dna or chakra. People of the top class such as minato, tobi, kakashi, kisame etc were all fooled into believing he was Madara uchiha, but Im sure they wouldn't rely on just a guess, he must have a strong feel or resemblance to that of Madara. When nagato uses rinne rebirth to revive the dead konoha people, tobi had stated that "that technique was supposed to be used for him". Tobi is alive, why would he need to be revived? Maybe it was incase he died? Or maybe "him" is his Madara-like personality talking.
I think Tobi is suffering from a identity-crisis he isn't sure who he is anymore. If there's a theory I most prefer, it must be the Izuna theory that many of you have been disproving. Yes the manga has said Izuna gave/lost his eyes to Madara which I believe to be a fact shown by Madara's eternal magenkyou but it says he later on died in battle. That was the end of the explanation, no detailed information and the subject was dropped. Normally when a subject like that is left it means there's more to it, or it isn't entirely as it seems. I doubt Izuna, who is on the same level as Madara and trained with him would die so easily. The two brothers who shared the same feelings and ideals wouldn't let their plans for the future end there. Izuna could of easily taken another sharingan from someone else or even had Madara find him some and regain his sight.
Tobi's sharingan is always active, no matter what situation, we have never seen tobi de-activate his sharingan which strongly suggests that the sharingan he has is no his and was from someone else. Kakashi's sharingan works in the same way. Tobi has great knowledge of the Uchiha clan and the history of everything which was all written and recorded on the Uchiha tablets which could only be read with a magenkyou sharingan and then further information when achieving the eternal. Tobi is clearly someone who has seen or knows of everything on those tablets. Izuna and Madara have both possessed the magenkyou and have read the tablets. Referring back to the nagato's reviving point, nagato may of been manipulated by Madara to revive his brother in which he though was dead?
Another point we used to think was a fact is Nagato's rinnegan was awakened by himself while he was a child and he was a sort of "chosen one". This was lately dis-proven and it turns out Madara gave him the rinnegan shortly before his death. I believe Madara knew of his impending death and decided to have nagato be the one to revive him. I have to clashing theories here I realize but its just a list of possible ways it could of gone. Who else would know so much about Madara or resembles him more than his own brother who was almost like Madara himself if you look past the appearances. Equal strength, same goals, same ambitions, same views, same knowledge, determination, ideas. They shared their own hatred for things, they shed blood together, they were perfect equals.
During the time Madara had fought hashirama, Izuna was presumed "dead". Recently we have come to find that Hashirama is unconscious within a wall feeding into Tobi's power and those of Zetsu. Tobi attacked the village with the use of the kyuubi, he'd seen Madara's ability to control the kyuubi with the sharingan and his ideals to utilize this to attack the village and so he did the same. Both hold grudges against the village and the clan. Tobi has started to experiment with Hashirama's DNA through what he had acquired and found and must be using it to "prolong" his life, from what I've seen, I believe that hashirama can live for a long time, either due to his clan being from one of the sage's son which inherited his body and his strength. Or that they are related to the uzumaki clan which was known for long life-spans so the senju may of had enhanced abilities of that. Hashirama being "alive" and "unconscious" may link in with his DNA giving the ability of long lives which Tobi may be using to prolong his life.
I think that is enough for people to understand from I look forward to any replies.
