I'm swinging for the fences here, but could it be possible Madara was experimenting with
the 1st's cells to achieve Rinnegan, by combining the Senju cells with his Uchicha cell and
and making the two bloodlines "complete". It could be the secret the Uchicha stone was hiding - unlocking the rinnegan.

Just found a counter point:
If Madara achieved rinnegan with the help of Hashirama's cells then why didn't Tobi do it the same way. (He got his rinnegan from Nagato)
And if whatever you told is true then how does it relate to Nagato's rinnegan [Tobi (or maybe madara. theory not proven yet) says he gave the rinnegan to Nagato]

Im not sure who it was that said it and i can onyl remember bits and pieces but it said that tobi is madara but he is the incomplete sharingan senju version of madara and madara as the rinnegan which if you can remember him saying now i have two or three paths and this is what i think they are not in order or anything conditions if you will
1. Sharingan (normal/ms/ems i think its gotta be powerful though
2. Senju cells/blood thats why you saw yamato getting sucked into that wall where it had 1st hokage
3. All tailed beasts in one place
4. Rinnegan
5. Eclipse or something to do with the moon
6. Juubi host someone who is powerful enough to not only wield sharingan, but rinnegan as well and have senju cells
thats just my analysis please continur to comment if you think i missed stuff or you want to add to what i said

Tobi is NOT Madara: In Manga 560, seeing the war, Madara says 'things are not going according to plans'. So if Tobi was some clone of Madara or something like that then the real madara would not have said this.

now for whatever you said:
1. EMS is gonna be very powerful (because Naruto said that both him and sasuke are at the same level. so when naruto learned sage mode he was equal to sasuke with MS, when naruto learned to control 9-tails Sasuke has EMS)
2. no clue about what they are gonna do with 1st hokage's clone
3. Tobi wants to make 10-tails by combining all the 9 tailed beasts and become its Jinchuriki
4. No clue about rinnegan yet.
5. after becoming 10-tails' Jinchuriki, tobi wants to cast a reflection of 10-tails' eye on the moon. so when a person looks at the moon he will be under tobi's control and this way he will rule the world. Tobi called this plan Tsuku-no-mi.

When Tobi was asking Konan about Nagato's body he told said "I was the one who gave Nagato rinnegan. And I was the one who told Yahiko to make Akatsuki". At that time everyone thought Tobi was Madara. So now the question is if Tobi was reffering to himself or real Madara.

Some guys here said that when Madara was resurrected he thought he has been resurrected by nagato using his rinnegan. but this was proven wrong as madara asks who has cast this 'edo tensei' (IWR).
so according to me, nagato would have had a big hand in Madara's death.

This Uchicha + Senju theory combining dna to get the rinnegan is rubbish, does anyone watch or read the manga?
The older son inherited the eyes, you can blatently see the older son had the rinnegan so why is everyone thinking you need both dna to obtain it.

the reason he asked who has cast this edo tensei is because muu said that it was edo-tensei

I was correcting you about the rinnegan thing
you said the son took rinengan
he took his eyes
but it wasn't rinnegan
it was "never stated in the manga" to be the rinnegan
just the eyes and the eyes looked exactly like the one in narutopedia which is "different" then rinnegan
and narutopedia's analysts are a lot better observers than you and I can ever be

I guess combination of Naruto's Sage Mode, Gaara's send shield and Onoki's Rock style jutsu are enough to counter Madara's asteriod.

Remember when Jiraiya was teaching Rasengan to Naruto, he said it was the 2nd hardest jutsu of all.....so this incomplete jutsu must be the 1st one.
