I see what you are talking about with the hair and how it shows strong support for either madara or izuna. I personally want tobi to be izuna, but the only issue with that image serving as evidence is that it was tobi telling of the past. As we have seen in flashbacks, with the fox attack and the night of the uchiha massacre, when the flashback is told it is shown how that character interprets the event. while talking to sasuke tobi is claiming to be madara and thus his flashback will show him to be madara in appearance. So I do understand your point and agree that if it were an event that happened in the present it would make for strong evidence, I feel that since it is one of tobi's explanations about a event in the past it cannot be completely trusted.if u go chapter 400 page 9 u can see madara? talking with itachi
here u see even more clear that the guy with the mask (he still had long hair back then) looks just like madara, he also wears a mask there

I thought tobi was madara just because when sasuke saw the nine tails inside naruto for the 1st time the nine tails said sasukes eyes reminded him of madaras and then when naruto saw his dad when he was fighting pain, the 4th said that the man in the mask from akatsuki was behind the attack on the village with the nine tails. Wouldn't that have been when the nine tails saw madaras eyes for him to have made that comment to sasuke??

OK OK OK I've got it!!! Tobi . . . is . . . Sasuke . . . from . . . the FUTURE!!! He lost all of his EMS abilities somehow when Naruto finally beat his a*s but, obviously couldn't kill him. He got a hold of some of the 1st's DNA and found a time machine and came back to the past all the while keeping his identity hidden in order to make NBer's go ape sh*t!!! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Just another theory
I thought tobi might have been Obito, only because no ones ever seen obito's body, everyone just assumed he got crushed and died. As well as that, when tobi has his mask on we can only see his right eye and we know it was his left eye that he gave to kakashi, and although you can clearly see that tobi had two sharingan when he was fighting konan in chapter 510 we also know he had collected other sharingan like he tried to do with shisui's eye after danzo died.
As well as that i thought a possible reason that tobi's mask covered his left eye, if he was obito, was for the same reason that kakashi and danzo did because it would use to much chaka. and yes i know that obito is an uchiha but the eye still isn't his and he may not be able to return the eye to a normal state like kakashi can't, and i was thinking maybe thats why tobi's goal to cast his eyes on the moon to create peace even if he has to do that by starting a war is because it was war that supposedly killed him ( if he was obito) and that may have turned him bitter over time.
Was just a theory anyway, prob a 99.99% chance that the theory is the complete opposite to what will be revealed in later chapters haha

As Madara mentioned Nagato when he was resurrected I think that Tobi's theory of Madara not being killed by the First and then living on is true. Its just that somehow may be later Madara died and was expecting Nagato to revive him but Tobi had other plans. Tobi might have helped Madara during the time after his fight with the First.
@PCHONG 2 posts above: seems very weird , when 4th hokage died kakashi was only a kid probably back then , and obito wasnt dead so long also, so obito just survies that boulder and suddenly begins fighting equally with the 4th hokage

maybe obito is tobi...madara somehow survied the battle vs the first and made experiments with his dna ...maybe madara was there while the mission where obito gave his eye to kakashi to study the 4th and found that way the wounded obito and recoverd his body with the first dna while this he washed his brain or obito mind make him forget the accident ( yes ur mind can do that when something terrible happend -this is a fact cuz of the will to survive) ...that would explain why madara knows nagato and why obito called him self madara and knows so much informations ...in other words madara where obitos sensei ...just a guess ...sry 4 bad english

I think Tobi isn't Madara and that soul-splitting thing just doesn't fit (Muu splitting has nothing to do with this story)

- Remember when naruto met his dad?? his dad was dead but now.. the fourth knows just a little bit about naruto.. right?? and when he met his mum.. now she knows a little about naruto too.. right.. let's say for example that Kabuto summons Kushina now.. she will certainly know how Naruto looks like now and that he has a lot of friends since she already met him even if she was dead.. does that make sense??
- What I mean is that maybe there was some link of that sort between Madara and Nagato (the Nagato that we know) and that dead-Madara (just like Naruto's mum and dad) met Nagato when Nagato was still a kid (cos he says "little brat") and maybe there was some kind of jutsu Madara made to the Rinnegan eye in specific and that when Nagato got them and maybe tryed to do the resurection jutsu for the first time he then met with Madara, but the technique wasn't good enough to be able to bring Madara back.
And I'm still thinking..

oonoki attempts to fly to madara to give a heavy punch but it is stopped and blow is given in return that knocks oonoki out.
tsuchikage surrounds him with the dust element jutsu
"oonoki im sorry i cant stop my self right now"
oonoki: *strugling to move*
*temari uses her fan to throw him off guard*
the dust element barrier shifts abit but still explodes, oonoki's right leg is missing
a group of ninja attempt to try and take oonoki to safety but madara appears from the sky uses another powerful katon technique
onoki in mind: il use a barrier now but it will use up the last of my chakra and my survival will be down to 0%
onoki does the jutsu and the ninja that helped him survive are safe but onokis eyes slowely start to close.(death?)
naruto enters sage mode and throws a rasenshuriken from the back of madara.
madara dissapears at the blink of an eye and appears behind naruto.
naruto:hes fast
madara goes for a jab but naruto dodges to the side and goes for a punch to the chest. naruto hits and madara moves back a bit.
madara looks up, he shows his ems
madara: i didnt want to use my ems on small fry but you, you seem worthy of it.
naruto is cast in a genjutsu(tsyukyomi)
naruto: im caught in a genjutsu and im at my limit right now.
naruto disappears.
madara: oh that was just a clone, what an interesting one he is.
we cut to real naruto and bee
they are about to run in to tobi

naruto madara has been summoned at garas division as ...en edo tensei
