Itachi made use of his crow, which had Shisui's eye. That eye can cast the strongest genjutsu, known as Kotoamatsukami. That genjutsu can control it's target, which caused Itachi to break away from the edo tensei. That genjutsu's command was, "protect konoha".

I do have a few question for your about this.

Nagato can only resurrect those that he killed. This implies that Madara had nagato kill him when he was a child. For what purpose?

Why did he need to die and get resurrected at all? Could he not just of gone through with his plan without that step?

Would this suggest he killed nagatos parents and posed as a konoha ninja and let nagato kill him?

Assuming it is true that he had Nagato kill him, why would Tobi still be going through with his plan if he lost Nagato to Naruto and didn't have a way to bring back Madara before knowing Kabuto had the ability to resurrect him?He announced that he intended to go through with the mooneye plan in chapter 467 but did not discover a new way to return Madara until 490

but i said before that maybe he was dying before he may have manipulated Nagato into killing him, it could quite reasonably thought to be that Madara was simply dying of old age or some other ailment...Kishi likes killing off the strongest characters with unknown illnesses, Itachi and Kimimaru to name them.

I also had a thought that tobi may in actual fact have known that Kabuto could use edo tensdei, he may have known because zetsu is a master spy, who knows what he tells tobi and therefore had edo tensei as his backup.

Its quite possible. Shisui's eye possessed by Danzo was not destroyed until after he announced his plans for the mooneye. He did however seem quite shocked that Kabuto was capable of the world resurrection but it isn't like he is not a master of deception tricking everyone into thinking he is Madara. It could very well have been an act. I do feel like the true master of deception is Kabuto and I would really like to know what his plans really are. I feel it is much more likely that he is one step ahead of tobi or he would not have acted.

Either way, I think the most likely scenerio is that there is still a missing piece that is yet to be revealed. The theory is still quite viable.

Heres MY complete split theorum

A shortened version of the theory i lost after writing it for an hour was that Madara is both of them...

Tobi is madara's memories in Obito's body, he would lose his own techniques as his original body was probably dying (old age?) but he would have Obito's technique Space Time Jutsu and the implanted DNA sample, from Madaras fight with Hashirama at the VotE, this would give him the ability to use Izanagi freely and ultimately Banbutsu Sozo, once he had his rinnegan and his plan was complete.

He made a plan long ago to unite his soon to be dead body ie edo tensei'd madara and EMS, with his new Tobi body, so that he could use EMS, Izanagi, Space Time Jutsu, Banbutsu Sozo and control the Jubi once it had been gathered. Essentially the sage of the six paths reborn plus his own EMS.

However he was meant to be reborn with gedo rinne tensei ,but Nagato uses it on the people of Konoha instead, thats why he talks about Nagato as it was part of his plan, Tobi adapted when the snake shows up, it fits in as he can revive his old body that way ie impure world resurrection. Sasuke was a sacrifice he was willing to make to gain ultimate power.

Once he had gained both sharingan and rinnegan into a single body he would be able to use izanagi which can turn reality into an illusion and illusions into reality. But he no longer has his EMS powers, which is why Nagato was given the rinnegan, to resurrect Madara and combine EMS with Izanagi.

you see that madara wants to use his EMS genjutsu, that itachi talks about when vsing sasuke. His genjutsu is infinite tsukiyomi, if you know what tsukiyomi does you know that you control space and time, this means you are a god in this genjutsu controlling everything in this realm, by reflecting it off of the moon he would be casting a genjutsu upon every one in the ninja world. Once combined with Tobi and Izanagi his infinite tsukiyomi could be taken to the next level.... it would not only be a genjutsu in the mind of the person, if he used izanagi with infinite tsukiyomi it would turn the illusion of Madara/Tobi being a god into reality. He would have total control of the entire world.

Madara is Tobi and his plan to rule the world has been accumulating since the time when Konohagakure was being created.

I find it hard to believe Tobi is using Obito's body or using his eyes for Space-Time techs. Not to mention Obito died as a young teenager, if Tobi took over Obito's body after that incident he wouldn't be as tall as he is now.

so Iguess that madara some split hos self into 2 when he foght the 1st hokage just like ex-tsuchikage.. and one is dead which hase revived now and the other is the one behind the mask... and thats why madara said the he's the half of his stringht when he attacked the kages meeting ...

Sweet chapter it was the greatest since all the edos were revealed. I just dont see how Madara could possibly know the Nagato we all do when Madara died before the 1st ninja world war and Nagato was born around the time of the 2nd ninja world war. So he is obviously talking about someone else.

I find it hard to believe Tobi is using Obito's body or using his eyes for Space-Time techs. No since he has both rinnegan and sharingan it means that his izanagi does not destroy an eye... that happens if they only have a sharingan. Havin hashirama cells augments the izanagi process and allows it to last longer but having a rinnegan means izanagi is complete and freely usable. Which means he is a boss !
