Naruto Manga Chapter 633 [ Review ]
Overview of last week's chapter
As I mentioned last week, this is Kishimoto in his element. The previous chapter depicted team seven actually coming together seamlessly despite them being apart for so long and the most important thing to note is that Sakura finally went to being useful with her inheriting the strength of Tsunade and as many people have hinted throughout the series, it seems that she became even stronger.
REVIEW
This chapter did something similar, but instead of focusing on the powers of team seven, it focused on the other rookie teams and how they all evolved. We saw many of them pull off new techniques and it was a really entertaining chapter.
The first few pages showed a quick acknowledgement of Naruto and Sasuke on how they evolved demonstrating that the rivalry still exists between them no matter what is going on in the world. Speaking of team seven there was this hilarious reappearance of Sai that had him trying to show off his skills as well, but….poor Sai he just never could really make it into the same light as the other characters and despite Kishimoto’s efforts he will still be that guy that “Isn't quite Sasuke.”
Not a lot happened plot wise through the chapter was we saw the different teams show off their abilities, but I am disappointed in what some of their skills were. Team 8 (Shino, Kiba, and Hinata) seem to have got screwed in the abilities department. They seemed rather simple and lackluster especially Hinata as her special move was nowhere near comparable with Neji. It would have been nice to show off that she had achieved her strength by going a different route instead of taking the same one as him and seeming weaker. Although I do still have hope seeing that we see her pull out the magical chakra hand lions again.
This would be fine, but when compared with Ino-Shika-Cho who have suddenly came up with a chakra being that can sense anything and take it out in an instant and Choji stepping up in a big way like usual, it just seemed kind of dull. It really looked like Kishimoto put more thought into some characters techniques than others.
The last page was a perfect homage to the legendary sannin though and I give props to Kishimoto for putting it in at such a perfect time. Despite the supporting characters not being as impressive as I wanted them to be this was still a great chapter and it had some great action with it.
Negative Points
- It mostly revolved around the Konoha 11 hyped up & showing off [ Well Konoha 12 [ since Sai was also here ]. It didn't really show us what the recently revived hokages are doing nor it did show Obito v Kakashi?
( TBH, i don't think we are going to see Kakashi & Obito until one has defeated the other , then we'll see a quick flashback )
- Also as well as this, the chapter was all just talk, talk and talk. There wasn't much action.
{ Don't tell me you believe the little bit of action Sakura gave us last week should keep us entertained Kishi? }
