I think it's water b/c he's the opposite of Sasuke; Sasuke uses Lightening and Fire, which are weak to Wind and Water. :headband:

maybe they merged with the leaf village, since the leafs logo has a swirly in the middle could represent the whirlpool village. Idk I think its a possibility I hope naruto starts to find out a little more about his past in the next chapters, because the only ones that seem to know anything are Jirayia which is dead, Kakashi whose status is unknown and then Tsunade.
