I recompared the two forms and realized it does have the RSM traits such as the lack of pigmentation... But did he really have to go RSM to defend against Shin? Wouldn't a simple KCM suffice

Naruto used RSM without displaying any of those traits already

Apparently it's impossible for Naruto to combine two separate modes like he has already done in the past

Naruto's TSB's were all destroyed so those not been seen can be attributed to that and the lack of the markings on the back are more likely linked to Naruto returning the Seal to Hagamoro which would also explain that but the eyes remain and is one of the signs of RSM.
