Will bet money that this film never makes it into or out of production hell. The IMDb page for starters is a dead giveaway.

Death Note was probably the height of populist international 'anime' and they squandered that opportunity. Also Naruto? I love Naruto but it's no Ghost in the Shell. That's getting a remake because it's part of cinema moreso than it pandering to any anime fanbase. Completely different instances.

There are live action death note movies, but Netflix is also making a new one, it comes out next year.

I know he's working with them, but the question remains: Can they pull it off? And which arc are they trying to do?

Another thing. Who is going to play Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, and the others?
I can't imagine Itachi in live action...

Here is a play they have done.

Anime that include superpowers simply don't work as live-action movies. Especially those who have an unrealistic artstyle and superpowers based on pure energy or elements (shows like Dragonball, Naruto, The Last Airbender etc.). It just looks super dumb. The dialoge, facial expressions and gestures often are cringy as well.

If they can get Marvel and DC movies right then there's excuse for them to screw up live action anime movies. Marvel has been killing it and now, we got Thanos and other heroes coming in Phase 3, including Red Hulk.

Same group that pushed Ghost in Shell is helping push this. They got us ScarJo for that role and a big budget. Naruto done with a big budget and talented actors won't go the way of DBE
Completeeeeely different tone and different project. Remaking a cinematic piece of history that film crowds know even if they don't care about anime is different to a young adults Shonen series where the main character wears bright orange and shouts a lot. Some things just do not translate and Naruto is 100% the last thing that should ever be live action. Just look at those fan-films, they're actually made really well but the visual style is plain stupid.

Well, in my opinion those movies suck as well and the "super heroes" look and behave ridiculous. But then again I'm not part of the targeted audience.

I bet allot of the haters are the be the fist ones to see it lol.

I also like how people judge without knowing anything about it.

I howerver have hope cause of the creator being involved now if he wasn't then I would be worried so I do think it might be true to the true to the source material.

As for the casting I can careless who they choose as long as they can deliver =D
