Like Sasuke, Naruto is confident in his teamates fighting skills, he's also 12+ years older than he was in The last against Toneri. Also the little creature,and 2 knocked out Shins, one which Sakura defeated with a single punch, are not as big of a threat as Toneri.

You've gotta look at the whole situation to things, instead of selecting a few parts,and mentioning it while ignoring others.
