Why he also kept it for himself (besides Kakashi, Yamato, and few others). Why not even tell Sakura, or Hinata, or Shikamaru? Maybe the reason is in the manga, but then I forgot about it... My apologies then.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's very cool and honorable from Naruto to not show off being the son of the Fourth, however he obviously is proud of it (wich is normal, since after 16 years he knows who his father is)...

I think it could be that he wanted to achieve acceptance on his own, and not cuz he's the Fourth's son. Basically, he wanted to be Hokage because of the village acknowledging his own ability to be so, not because of Minato.
