Previous Chapter:
A man was sitting behind a desk stacked with nothing but mountains of paperwork. This man was none other than “The Red Flash” also known as the Hokage of Konohagakure, Kurama Namikaze. He was the son of Naruto Uzumaki and evidently had traits passed down from both Naruto and his grandfather, Minato Namikaze. It was these traits, these skills, and these abilities that made Naruto decide to give him such a historically powerful name as Namikaze, honoring his father.
Like the Fourth Hokage who was also known as “The Yellow Flash,” Kurama had gained the ability to use Time/Space Ninjutsu. He was the only living person now with it considering Tobi was declared dead and so was the late great Fourth Hokage. You could debate on whether or not Naruto had this ability as well, but you’d have to consider that it was only after he controlled the Nine-Tailed Beasts Chakra and was in that form that he could move like Minato. So, really, no one counted him as being a Shinobi with Time/Space Ninjutsu.
Footsteps could be heard from a distance as two men approached the door to the Hokage’s office. One of the men had medium-length black hair with violet eyes that made women melt. The other male had short black hair with a darkred tint on the ends. These two men in the same order in which they were described were the Hokage’s close friends and loyal body guards, Kiri Kagazan of the Hyuga Clan and Kyousei Yakusai.
Kiri Kagazan is a powerful ninja physically and is one of the fastest strikers in hand to hand combat. He is also an expertise at Medical Ninjutsu which definitely comes in handy. Especially in times where there could be a Fifth Great Ninja War. Kyousei, otherwise known as Kyo for short is an offensive Taijutsu specialist and possessor of the Explosion Release Kekkei Genkai.
They were definitely two of the best people for any Kage to have by their sides. Unfortunately, their facial expression weren’t those that would normally bring to someone good news.
“Hokage-Sama,” Kiri said as both he and Kyo bowed their heads slightly to greet Kurama. Finishing up the rest of the paperwork, Kurama acknowledged them by giving them approval to speak to him with a slight nod. He could tell that they didn’t have the best of news for him. This was how it always was with these two.
When Tsubasa abandoned Konohagakure, they sadly announced to him the news in the same fashion as they were about to speak on this news they had for him. “We’re very sorry to announce this to you, but we just got word of both the Mizukage dying and… your younger brother, Ria.”
Clearly pissed off by the news, especially the last bit, Kurama clenched his fists tightly behind the desk. Nevertheless, he did not want to show any emotion in front of anyone because he knew that the village would expect him to be strong for them. Even though Kiri and Kyo were close to him, he didn’t want them to see him cry. And one thing he rarely did was throw a temper tantrum such as the former Raikage; A might have if he ever heard his “brother” Killer-Bee being murdered.
Knowing that Kurama didn’t care much for extra details like who might have killed him, Kiri didn’t feel the need to explain further. However, Kyo stepped forward to assure him that, “So far, there has been no news of any members from Ria’s squad being killed, so we’re assuming that they’re fine. Nonetheless, I am sure you know all too well by now that assuming things just isn’t enough.”
Like most Kage of this generation, Kurama wore his own attire. However, he had his hat attached to something on his back the whole entire time. As he began to stand up, the air got thinner as if Kiri and Kyo thought he’d go berserk because of this highly unfortunate and heart aching news. But, he presented them with a small smile such as one Minato or Naruto would give to a comrade who needed cheering.
“It is time for us to take our leave then. If we had waited any longer, we might have been hours late for the meeting today. Knowing Kimiko, she’ll be the only person truly having a problem with me coming late. I am sure that neither Joutei nor Tetsuke will care much. Even if they do, they probably won’t say much about it. So, shall we?”
Looking at one another before nodding when Kurama asked them shall they go now, Kiri and Kyo had surprised expressions. That certainly wasn’t the reaction they were expecting to see. They thought that he’d cry slightly at least or frown the whole time after hearing such news as he did when he was younger and heard of the deaths of Naruto and Sasuke.
However, their deaths weren’t caused by war which made things feel easier to deal with. To hear your younger brother dying because you allowed him to go to Kirigakure with his squadron and not you would usually make someone feel absolutely dreadful. How the Hokage managed a smile, neither body guard knew. What was on Kurama’s mind was quite difficult to tell as they walked out of the Hokage’s Mansion.
…This is definitely not easy to picture. The Mizukage was a beast and fell to the feet of the enemy. Whether it was the Hatsukaisen or Shitei Takai doesn’t matter. One thing I know for sure is that these dudes aren’t posers. These guys are for real… Kiri thought to himself as he walked a little behind Kurama on his right side. He was perfectly lined up beside Kyo though who stood to the Hokage’s left. So, I bet you’re wondering. If Kurama’s Space/Time Ninjutsu is so great, why didn’t he just teleport them to Kirigakure?
Well, that answer was a fairly simple question to answer for the trio. Kurama was a man who strived on becoming stronger, faster and being durable. He wanted to walk all the way to anywhere they went so that they could get exercise on the way. This was a great way to build up stamina. An hour passed before the Hokage and his body guards reached the Great Naruto Bridge. It took them a minute to reach the entrance gates of Kirigakure, or at least, that rubble was what was left of the entrance.
Showing no emotion on their faces as they entered the village, they scanned the area to see Joutei yelling at Kirigakure forces, telling them to assist him in cleaning things up. Kimiko was also around too, but not for too long. As they came, she left in a different direction. How fortunate Kurama was to have dodged an early bullet. If she had seen him, she probably would have given him a lecture regardless of her being the youngest out of all the Kage of this generation. Watching as everyone seemed to panic, Kurama knew that they’d have to hurry and start the summit.
With the death of their village leader, Kirigakure would probably be on high alert. There was no doubt in Kurama’s mind that after knowing their Mizukage was dead; they’d be the first out of the Five Great Nations to give up hope. However, the Namikaze wasn’t going to allow that to happen.
