Darui: The next fight is between The Cloud and The Waterfall!
Darui: Begin
As the two genin clash, Naruto and the rest search the tournament roster to find the upcoming conflicts. Lee, a bit fidgety in his seat, caught a glimpse of Toppuu’s name, next to a member of the sands. Receiving flashbacks of his own fight against the Gaara during his first Chuunin Exams, Lee silently wished Toppuu the best against the questionably formidable opponent. Nothing is known about the kid from the sand, other than the fact that his Sensei is Kankuro. During Lee’s moments of thought, Kankuro looks over, noticing his nervousness.
Kankuro: Hey Lee! Are you scared about the upcoming battle?
Kankuro said sarcastically.
Lee (looking up): No! I was nervous about the matches after that!
Kankuro (gritting his teeth): Hrrr. There is no way you’re student will defeat a puppet master-in—training.
Lee: My student is strong! He will not easily be defeated!
Kankuro (rolling his eyes over Lee’s argument): Whatever, we’ll see when the time comes.
In the arena, the two ninja continue to fight, with a volley of taijutsu, kunai, and shuriken. As the Cloud pushes forward with a ninjutsu, the Waterfall is forced to submit. The Cloud moves on to face the winner of the Rock and Stone. As the next battle commences between the geological neighbors, the Kage are sitting together, discussing the future of the villages along with what their next moves are. Gaara has returned to his seat for a Five Kage meeting during the exams.
Kitsuchi: Since the Fourth Shinobi World War, there has been abselotely no conflict between any of the nations. It’s best to assume that this will last for times to come. I propose that we start demilitarizing, and focus on the economy and well-being of our villages.
Tsunade: So the new Tsuchikage already has an idea.
A: That sounds like a great way to head in for the Hidden Villages, but there’s still the issue of the smaller ones. Are they plotting against us? Lady Tsunade, what did your intelligence team find out?
Tsunade: There is no evidence to back up the theory about the smaller hidden villages. However, we can’t dismiss that our trade route documentation has been taken, supposedly from rogue ninja. I have sent ANBU to oversee the incarceration of the criminals. Even with that, the documentation has not been found, even with our ANBU in place.
A: Then what should our strategy be?
Tsunade: I don’t know.
Gaara: We could demilitarize, but by only a certain amount of shinobi, in case we need large numbers again for the future.
Mei: That’s a fantastic idea.
A: Does everyone agree with the Kazekage’s statement? Will we demilitarize, but only by a certain amount that is rational with our already in place shinobi?
Tsunade: I agree with this idea.
Mei: Agreed.
Kitsuchi: Agreed.
A: And I agree as well. This is for the future, and shall be known as: The Demilitirization of the Five Great Nations.
As the agreement between the five Kages ends, a black haired man in civilian clothing hides behind the door. He smiles and licks his lips as he is about to head off, Naruto appears next to him with a kunai to the neck.
Naruto (in a serious tone): Who are you?
Black Haired Man: Naruto Uzumaki, it’s a pleasure to meet you. But this is the only time we’ll talk.
Naruto: Hmph.
A swirling sphere of blue chakra forms in Naruto's hand. The man looks at it and stays as calm as he was before.
Naruto: Rasengan!
He rammed the rasengan into the stranger, sending into flying into the wall, which cracked upon impact.
Naruto: Damn. It was only a shadow clone.
The five kage appear near Naruto as he wipes his hand off on his shirt.
A: What happened!
Naruto: A man was listening in on to your conversation, but it turned out to be a shadow clone. He should be long gone by now.
A: Who would have sent a spy to listen to us, and right as we made the deal too.
Tsunade: It was probably one of the small villages.
Kitsuchi: What’s our next move then?
Gaara: We have to go through with the slight demilitarization. They will only suspect we know about the spy, and go through with the attack at a later time. It would only be wise of them to attack us now while we are weak from the war, and with the new deal, it would be more of a bonus for them.
Kitsuchi: So what you’re saying is we need to demilitarize so we get attacked?
Gaara: Now, we have to unofficially train the numbers that have to be made up with the demilitarization. That way we can keep the same amount of shinobi, even if they are unregistered.
Kitsuchi: Not too bad. Sounds like a good plan to me.
Tsunade: Then it’s settled. Let’s return to our seats and watch the remaining part of the battles for today.
Naruto: I was just about to ask: What we are going to do about the villages?
Tsunade: We are officially demilitarizing, but it is going to be a scam to the smaller villages.
Naruto: Hopefully we can keep the peace, and evade another war.
Gaara: Hopefully…
Song:
Once the clone is beaten, the intelligence gained by the black haired man is received by the original. The man meanders his way to the rendezvous point, where three male ninja await his arrival on a bridge. The bridge has been beaten up by the elements, to a point where the once smooth stone is now jagged. One of the ninja, a rather tall man with black hair, advanced towards the spy. He is dressed in a long black robe, with a high collar coming up to the chin. There is a slight breeze moving through the air. The trees move to and fro like dancers in a ballet.
Ninja 1 (in a deep voice): What information have you retrieved from the Kage?
Man: They plan on demilitarizing. The kage think no conflicts will erupt after the Fourth Shinboi.
Ninja 1: Good. Lord Otokage will be pleased.
The ninja moves his hand near his face, where he initiates the deactivation of the seal placed on the man.
Ninja 1: Release!
The man’s head falls. Suddenly, as if being turned on and off like a robot or computer, the man looks up. He notices the three ninja that are standing in front of him.
Man: Who are you? Where am I?
Ninja 1: We found you unconscious near this bridge, but we have to go. Is there anything you need from us?
Man (nervously): I can’t be here! I’m supposed to be at the Chuunin Tournament at the Hidden Cloud Village! Do you know where that is?
The ninja points in the direction of the arena, and commences his leave. The man thanks the ninja for their help and hurries to meet up with his wife to watch the battles. The man was once a jounin from the Leaf, but has since retired after turning fifty. As the ninja leave, they transform back into their original faces and attire, which consists of a gray shirt with black pants, and a black and gray camo scarf. The familiar music note is engraved on their headbands, along with the full facial coverage.
Ninja 1: Hopefully Lord Otokage receives this information well. It will give us the upper hand after preperations.
Ninja 2: What does the Otokage have in mind?
Ninja 1: I have no idea. He seems to be in a better mood then usual, which can only mean something good has happened.
Ninja 2: Good. I hate it when he’s angry.
Ninja 1: Don’t we all?
The three continue to make their way to the Hidden Sound village. During the trek, the battle between Toppuu and the Sand is underway. Kankuro and Lee are almost jumping out of their seats, excited by the fight between their students.
Song:
Toppuu sprint towards Sabaku, the sand puppet master-in-training. Toppuu raises his father’s sword above his head, looking for the win. Toppuu is countered by Sabaku’s puppet’s rope and dagger, which then thrusts the combination weapon towards Toppuu. Toppuu releases his sword from the puppet’s rope, and jumps into the air. The dagger advances towards Toppuu, without giving him an escape route. Toppuu knocks the dagger-rope with his arm, which cuts him, and slashes the rope in two. The dagger falls with Toppuu, and both land simultaneously. Toppuu glances down at his sword, and slashes the air in a horizontal motion.
Toppuu: Vacuum Sword!
The gust of wind dashes towards the unsuspecting puppet trainee. Sabaku hears the gust as it approaches, and with the twitch of his fingers, the puppet takes the blow. The weapon dolls arms are blown off and the rope made unusable. Sabaku raises his hands and the puppet struggles join them. The puppet opens its mouth, as another blade slowly appears.
Sabaku: *Thinking* I just have to hold out. It will all end in five minutes.
Song:
The puppets chest planks burst open to form a wall in front of Sabaku. The chest is lined with small blades as well, which gleam in the summer sun. Toppuu charges, the black and crimson hilted sword in his hands. Kankuro laughs sarcastically as Toppuu tries to slice up the wooden wall.
Kankuro: There’s no use. He’s already been injected with the poison. Toppuu will be unconscious within a matter of minutes!
Lee: It can’t be! How was he poisoned?
Kankuro: The rope and dagger are both coated with a special “knock out” poison designed for the Exams. Since he’s
not allowed to kill, we came up with an alternative solution.
Lee (shouting): Come on Toppuu, you can do it!
Toppuu continues to slash away at the puppet, but to no avail. Toppuu is perspirating profusely which causes a miniscule amount gets caught in his eyes. Toppuu stumbles back from the stinging and his fatigue.
Toppuu: *Thinking* I haven’t even made a dent. How am I supposed to defeat this guy? Not only that, but my arm is starting to go numb. It might have been poison, knowing a puppet trainee, but I can only assume he wouldn’t pull such a stunt during the exams.
Sabaku: You won’t break through my defense, and you don’t have much time either. In a matter of minutes, the poison will finish spreading and you will be finished.
Toppuu: *thinking* He did poison me! That bastard! I don’t have much time, I need to think. How can I get past his puppet? I don’t have anything in my arsenal to beat it… Unless…
Song:
Toppuu runs towards Sabaku at full speed. He weaves a handsign, making a shadow clone. Impossible to track them both, Subaku hides behind his puppet with a kunai in hand. Toppuu initiates his Dance of the Crescent Moon, confusing Sabaku. Toppuu takes the opportunity and places the sword next to Sabaku’s throat.
Toppuu: *Thinking* It’s over…
Sabaku recovers from the kenjutsu trick and almost jumps in shock as he notices the sword to his throat. He grins, realizing the situation.
Sabaku: That’s too bad Toppuu, because your time should be up.
Toppuu: It doesn’t matter. I would have killed you if this was a real fight.
Sabaku: True. Then I submit. You win, however, the poison is still going to be nasty in about 5…4…3…2…1…
Toppuu falls to the ground, rolling in pain. He starts to scream as the crowd watches in horror. Darui and the medical corp run towards Toppuu, trying to make it in time. As Toppuu’s eyes close, Sabaku’s almost sinister grin is the last thing he sees.
Medical Corp: Sir, he doesn't have a pulse!
Darui: Sabaku, you are disqualified from the Exams.
Lee: Your student killed Toppuu!
Kankuro (defensively): I had no idea he switched poisons! I instructed him to use the knock out one so he won’t be disqualified, or thrown in jail.
Lee: It doesn’t matter, he still killed him! You will pay for this!
Gai: Lee, calm down. It isn’t fair to Kankuro, he didn’t know.
Lee (tears streaming from his eyes): But Gai sensei, Toppuu is dead!
Gai: We don’t know that for sure. He could very well be alive.
Lee: He was squirming around in pain! That can’t be a nonlethal poison.
Gai: Hmm. Let’s go find out.
Lee: Right. I’ll be back Kankuro. If he’s not alive, you will feel my wrath.
Kankuro (scared): Yea. I’m telling you he’s not dead!
Lee and Gai proceeded to the medical facility that was used for the tournament. The others looked at Kankuro with menacing glares, punishing him without a single word.
Song:
Dyno is sitting in the waiting area, twiddling his fingers. Lee and Gai sit down next to him as he looks up at the ceiling in dread.
Dyno (tears in his eyes): Why? Why does something like this happen during a friendly battle?
Gai: Somethimes Dyno, things happen unexpectedly. You just have to cope with it.
Dyno (still crying): He could be dead! My friend and teammate dead! He didn’t even make chuunin!
Lee punches Dyno in the face, causing blood and tears to form a darker red mixture. Lee has already started to cry and an even greater amount of tears poured down his reddened face as he delivered the blow.
Lee (in a calmer voice): I know what you’re feeling Dyno. I lost my dear friend a couple years ago. But you have to understand that he could still be alive. His death hasn’t been confirmed yet. You must not give up hope!
Dyno (rubbing his enlarged cheek, still crying): Sensei… Thank you!
Dyno jumped to Lee and the two embraced. Gai stood idly by, thinking about the past.
Gai: *Thinking* Hm. These two have a great student-teacher relationship, just like my own with Lee’s. I’m glad to have a student such as Lee pass on the torch to the younger generation.
Suddenly, a medical ninja burst out of the room.
MN: We have news!
Song:
FX: Cling! Ding! Clang!
Kunai against kunai, shuriken whizzing by, left and right, the next battle has begun. The projectiles are caught by the nearby trees, taking all the power from the impact. Kameha throws three kunai with wire attached, almost slicing the side of the oncoming waterfall ninja. She grips the wire, tugging with all her might. The kunai change direction and speed furiously towards the genin. The ninja knives make contact with flesh. A falling genin suddenly is overcome by a puff of smoke. To Kameha’s amazement, a log holds the kunai in its back. The waterfall ninja appears next to Kameha, water sword in hand. (Waterfall Style: Watercutter Sword) The waterfall ninja thrusts his raging sword at Kameha’s side. She tries to block it with her own kunai, which is hit out of her hand. She falls back, recovering from the blow.
Kameha (weaving handsigns): Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!
A volley of minitature fireballs are sent rushing towards the waterfall ninja.
WN (grinning): Hmph.
The waterfall ninja uses his aquatic sword to slash and block the oncoming attack, his face as calm as a summer field. The ninja advances while Kameha is catching her breath. He rushes at her, water saber in hand. The genin jumps, preparing a full-powered slash downwards. As if by magic, wires appear from nothingness, catching the kid in a web of metal. She prepares herself for another attack, weaving the correct handsigns for her most potent jutsu.
Kameha: Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!
This fireball is much grander than the last, at least a foot wider in diameter. Kameha’s wire is designed to forcefully retract once it is heated to a certain degree. As the fireball is about to hit it’s target, a surge of water envelopes it, completely forcing the fire to become extinguished. However, a bit of the flames reach the wire, and it retracts swiftly. Pulling the kunai out of the tree, the trap heads towards the Waterfall ninja at blinding speeds. A contact of metal rings out, while no familiar sound of metal to flesh can be heard.
Kameha: Not fast enough. He was already out of the vicinity of my trap.
WN: Damn right I was. Now comes the fun part.
Song:
Four clones appear around Kameha, Water Swords in hand, ready to deliver pain. Kameha quickly whips out two kunai-wire combination weapons. She jumps into the air, throwing the two daggers at two clones simultaneously. As the kunai connect, she grabs the middle of the wire, pulling hard enough to retract the kunai to Kameha. She grabs each hilt again and repeats the process, taking out another two clones. By the time she has both kunai, the original appears in front of her, slashing in a horizontal motion. Kameha blocks the blade with hers, using the other kunai to gain the advantage. The waterfall ninja swiftly brings his knee up, knocking the kunai out of Kameha’s hand.
Kameha (grinning): Checkmate.
Kameha grabs the wire with her free hand, swings it toward the genin, who get’s caught up in the wire. Kameha has her hand firmly on the first kunai, while the genin is wrapped up in the wires trap. She weaves two handsigns, the minimum amount for this powerful jutsu.
Kameha (aiming down the wire): Fire Style: Fireba-
Darui (cutting the wire and grabbing the trapped genin): Stop!
Kameha (continuing): -ll jutsu!
The fireball stays its course, only to burn down a nearby tree. Darui lands on the ground, and unwraps the wire from the Waterfall shinobi.
Darui: That’s enough. The winner is Kameha of the Hidden Leaf Village!
Song:
The crowd roars with excitement. Kameha smiles; happy to have won such an auxhilirating battle. She and the waterfall shinobi return to the waiting area, where two medical ninja are prepared to treat the wounds.
Fukutsu (smiling): Great battle Kameha!
Patsuta (in agreement): Yea, you fought well.
Kameha (smiling back): Thanks you two. I'm better than you guys at this kind of stuff.
The three snicker, thinking about what battles are to come. As they leave the entrance, Darui introduces the two new genin who are set to fight: Yakudatsu vs. Tsumiji.

Gai: *Thinking* Hm. These two have a great student-teacher relationship, just like my own with Lee’s. I’m glad to have a student such as Lee pass on the torch to the younger generation.
Suddenly, a medical ninja burst out of the room.

Tsumiji.
