Naruto may have more power but we've seen itachi show before that with his speed of thought and abilities he can handle a more powerful opponent. Understimating itachi is pointless. We've litterally never seen the guy loose a fight ( that he wasn't purposely planning to loose the whole time, pretending he wasn't, while sick, just to satisfy his little brothers homicidal hard-on ).

This is very true too. At times in the Naruverse, intelligence does trump power and those fights are usually the ones w/ Itachi in them.
