Let's put it this way, if Naruto and Sasuke were in a relationship, Sasuke would be the abusive husband while Naruto is the wife who keeps coming back. The only difference is that Naruto doesn't try to bargain that "oh, he's really a nice guy deep down" and doesn't even acknowledge that Sasuke has done terrible things to him.
Most of the supporting cast has realized this and have even tried to help Naruto break the cycle but to no avail. Even Sasuke himself has called Naruto out on this.
Sasuke is not Naruto's friend. He was at one point but their friendship no longer exists. The fact that Naruto still considers him a friend reinforces the notion that he is trapped in the cycle of violence.
