Learn the difference between being a boss and being a Leader.

Naruto have the two main components of leadership: Trust and Charisma.

- With charisma, you can change people and move masses.
- With trust, you can empower other people to do things that the leader is not capable of.

There are other candidates in K-11, but... they don't have these two key components.

Any thoughts?

Of course he's gonna be the hokage and the things you describe are the main things but still he's got some naivety but i think that Kishi will reduce it by the time before the war ends... :)

IMHO I don't think either Naruto or Sasuke has what it takes to become hokage. Shikamaru may not have what it takes right now, but that doesn't mean he can't step up and become that man. Honestly, I think kishi hinted that shikamaru understands what it takes to become a kage. His father saw it, and even his woman, Temari saw it.

I honestly think we are in for a shock at the end of the series. Lol this may be a shonen but I think kishi wants to go out with a bang. Something that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Just saying, naruto may not become hokage like we all expect. Maybe the life that he wanted all along isn't what is really his destiny. Destined for greater things? Who knows.

well, Naruto's definitely the guy to protect the village. He's by far the strongest and his ability to distribute Kurama's chakra will help him defend everyone as well. Although I think he would need an advisor like Shikamaru to help him think things through as well

This is what I meant with empowerment, done thanks to trust.

Naruto doesn't need to do all the job. Even Itachi told him about this, he must not carry with everything to become Hokage.

Naruto has the qualifications. He did what Shika did countless times. Shika will make a excellent hokage assistant or advisor. He's been showing his ass of during this war.
The title hokage goes to Sasuke (I'm not a Sasuke fanboy) Look at what he and Naruto are doing the front line fighting against a god. All Sasuke has to do is up the moral of the allience. Naruto will pass up the position and Sasuke is the strongest person in the world next to Naruto especially when he masters his EMS.

The thing is... Sasuke could be good if he could trust on others, and...

Will Konoha have trust in Sasuke again?

People seem to forget that Sasuke is an international criminal that betrayed his village for the promise of power, murdered the Candidate Sixth Hokage, attempted to murder his previous team, and plotted to murder everyone in Konoha. Simply because he saw the 'light' and decided to intervene in the war won't absolve his history of betrayal and insanity.

Naruto only has a selfish reason for becoming the Hokage, to be acknowledged by others, something that he has already obtained.

On the other hand, Sasuke wants to change the system that has destroyed the lives of lots of people.

And others seem to forget that his entire clan was murdered for the sake of Konoha only because the second Hokage was a very stubborn guy.

...wrong. Naruto's objectives evolved long time ago since Sasuke left the village. He want to save EVERY friends he has, and he wants to achieve peace for the world since Pain's Arc.

...:) don't get me wrong, Sasuke has good motives, but he lacks what is needed for leadership.

Right. Naruto's character has evolved since Part 1. He wants to bring peace and end the Cycle of Hatred. It's been his main goal since the Pain Arc aside from saving Sasuke. To assume that this and his dream of becoming Hokage are entirely unrelated is silly.

Also, the Massacre is irrelevant. Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, and the rest of Konoha had nothing to do with what happened to his clan. Yet Sasuke plotted their murder as if they were all guilty and intended to obliterate the entire village. Fact is, Sasuke went off the deep end and is still in it even now. The guy is plotting to kill Naruto himself even after he 'switched' sides. You don't make a ruthless psychopath Hokage.
