He has more modes, but those do not count as versatility because he needs powers from other beings to achieve the respective modes. (SM is included as it need to borrow natural energy that does not belong to Naruto).

Naruto has Rasengan variations (they differ in chakra control, chakra, and destruction capabilities) such as Rasengan, Oodama Rasengan, Wind Rasengan, FRS from base. He has Summoning jutsu which he used to summon frogs, he can transform his clones into weapons

. SM does count since Natural energy is free energy that can be use by those who have the ability to use it or have gone through the training to use it. It's you're taking natural energy out then take out all chakra since everyone is using the Juubi's, had Kaguya not ate the fruit, no one would have chakra and the Juubi is a mass of natural energy. Naruto train hard to become one with nature (be completely still) and draw in natural energy which he balance with his spiritual energy and physical energy. He doesn't borrow it, it gathers it to make a stronger chakra which he then can use.

Naruto isn't depending on any living being for that since natural energy is everywhere and if you try and claim the Earth as being a living being in this example then no one can do anything by themselves since everyone relies on the Earth to live. SM gives Naruto enhanced stats, new taijutsu style (frog kata), sensory ability, and access to more jutsus (Pa toad stated that Naruto learned all Senjutsu techniques to an extend in Pein Arc)

There are ninjas with much less than or equal to what Naruto has like Hinata, Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, Sakura, Kakashi without the Sharingan, Tsunade, Hiruzen (saying he has all of Konoha's jutsu but not showcasing even 1 makes Naruto have more), Minato (We haven't seen much), Shizune, Gai, Lee, ect...
