I think we need to see Minato's arsenal before making a good assessment but Kurama did say that Naruto had surpassed Minato.

I don't recall this ever happening. All Minato did was cut Bee's tenticle, dodge Raikage's attack and almost get the better of A.

Naruto is stronger than Minato and can beat opponents that even Mianto couldn't beat. However if they are to fight then Minato would win U_U He's the one used the Hakke Fuuin in the first place, he can undo the seal and insta-kill Naruto U_U

But this could all change if Edo Minato shows his arsenal.

Now that Naruto and the Kyubbi are friends, even if Minato somehow does that, the Kyubbi won't break free.

OT: I see what you are saying, it was said that SM Naruto surpassed Minato but I think it meant when it comes to mastering sage mode since Minato hasn't shown us sage mode. In a fight, Minato is far superior as he can redirect a rasenshuriken back and Naruto to kill him.

Minato is too fast for anything in SM Naruto's arsenal and much faster than him. FTG guarantees him victory over SM Naruto. Naruto may survive a rasengan from Minato but they will slow him down and multiple will kill him.

KM Naruto, however, beats Minato mid difficulty as KM clones are even more durable than sage mode clones and can't be killed by any attacks in Minato's arsenal. Naruto's speed surpasses Minato's unless Minato is using FTG but even still, Naruto's sensory abilities allow him to locate Minato and then use his super fast clones to constantly blitz Minato.

Eventually, Minato won't be able to counter massive barrage of clones and rasengan.

Naruto in Sage Mode could hang without Minato. It would be a High Diff. Win either way.

Though once the Kyuubi gets involved its a stomp.
