Naruto works hard, he learnd rasengan when he was a genin, plus he made the rasenshuriken, sage mode is also hard to master, indeed Kurama saved his ass a couple of times
Sasuke was born with the sharingan but he also works hard, even if you are born with it it takes a while to learn how to control it and use it at it's full potential, also he learned chidori and taijutsu, trained hard to gain speed, and he is a good strategist
So both of them use the things they were borned with to get stronger through hard work

MS and EMS have special conditions but if you gain it then you have to know how to use it not just go spam amaterasu until you lose all your chakra, Itachi mastered genjutsu, sasuke is counting more on susano'o, and i think you need some training before you can make and control an amaterasu sword

Normally it's like this:
MS - hard work (kill best friend - knows everything about you maybe)
EMS - hard work (your siblings eyes - may put up a fight)
But to Sasuke it's like this:
MS - didn't need to worry about it really (Naruto attacks him - can't avoid anyway - Itachi planned all this - Killed himself - Sasuke did nothing, acutally was spared)
EMS - Obito gave it as a gift.

Itachi is a boss because he used MS for a long time and he wasn't blind, at all.
Sasuke were getting those power ups like he was on a picnic with kishimoto. Same as naruto, well naruto actually TRAINED his ass off for SM.
